Wilsons Promontory. Beautiful. Brutal. You may be aware that it was the home of No.7 Infantry Training Centre. In short the birthplace of Australia's first Commandos in 1940. It was chosen for it's remote location and rugged terrain. Such an intriguing chapter in Australia's military history. Inspiring. Just spent a couple of nights solo hiking. Due to recent storm damage a couple of tracks were closed. Had to take the long way and back track at times. All up 50+ clicks, Used summitting Mount Oberon to pre-fatigue and as a nod to the blokes that got to know it very well back in the day. Alone. Underload. A great time for self-reflection, finding your happy place and getting comfortable with the uncomfortable, both mental and physical. OZRUCK - You won't get it until you do it.
