Penrith Emus Rugby Club The Penrith Emus returned to rugby via Subbies in 2025. Now in 2026, we are set to take the next steps forward. Join us for training on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

New players welcome! Penrith Rugby Club was established in 1965 and played for many years in the Sydney Sub District competitions. After playing for several years in the 2nd Division of the Sydney Premiership we were then promoted to 1st Division in 1995 named the Shute Shield. In 2021, Penrith Rugby successfully joined the John I Dent Competition, a premier rugby competition played with teams fro

m Southern NSW and ACT, Canberra. We have two senior teams, one COLTS (U20) team, and a Women's team. We are active in promoting rugby in the Penrith Valley region and as well as providing development at all levels.

🏉 The Western Sydney Schools Rugby Championship officially kicks off tomorrow — Wednesday 3 June!

This competition will run across 8 weeks and feature 10 CHS schools from across Western Sydney competing in:
• U14s
• U16s
• U18s
• Girls U16s
• Girls U18s

Participating schools:
🏫 Airds High School
🏫 Rooty Hill High School
🏫 Colo High School
🏫 Hawkesbury High School
🏫 Hornsby High School
🏫 Windsor High School
🏫 Epping Boys High School
🏫 Chifley College Bidwill
🏫 Richmond High School
🏫 Mitchell High School

Over the past 8 weeks, development officers have been working closely with schools to prepare teams through preseason programs, with matches to be played Wednesdays from 1–3pm on a home-and-away basis.

The momentum is already building, with additional schools expressing interest in joining the competition in 2027.
