Community Enhancer - Lauren Cunningham AKA

Lauren has been an inspiring leader within our gym, relentlessly motivating all our members with her kind and vulnerable approach that breaks down barriers and softens people to make positive change.
She has been the glue that has kept this ship afloat and without her presence and influence we probably wouldn't be here today. A well deserved award and long overdue recognition for a special human who constantly gives her time and energy selflessly with no expectation of reward.
Athlete Of The Year - Kevin Ryan

You wouldn't know this bloke was 72 years young with the way he attacks every workout with intensity and drive. He has been an inspiration to every single member who has come in contact with him. Kev has gained strength & improved his fitness leading to him being able to enjoy his every day activities so much more, whether that be out on the golf course or playing with his grandchildren. Kev is rewriting the rules as to what's possible and we hope more people aspire to make change that may have said "They're too old"
Quiet Achiever - Terena Egan
Tez has been consistently training over the course of the year whilst also making improvements with her nutrition leading to her dropping over 20kgs! She always sports a smile and pushes through every workout, giving her best shot every time! Tezs consistent progress has been an inspiration to those around her, especially if you know her history and where she has come from!

Tez has consistently been showing up for herself, making persistent progress in her fitness and strength whilst also dropping 15kgs of bodyweight since Dec last year.
It makes it all the more inspiring when you know Terena a little bit about her story.

Here's what she has to say about her journey:

"Over the last 6 months, I’ve lost around 15 kg in total. It might look like it happened quickly, but honestly it’s been a long 4-year journey to get here. A lot of it has been working on my mental health after dealing with the side effects of chemo and radiation.

These days, I usually train about 3 times a week—though there have definitely been weeks I haven’t been as consistent! What’s helped keep me coming back is having such great friends at the gym. Everyone here is super friendly, and it’s just a really comfortable environment to train in.

Nutrition has been a huge part of this too. I’ve shifted from eating to satisfy cravings to eating in a way that supports my hormones. I’m all about food that can help heal your body—there’s always something natural out there that can help.

Outside the gym, I’m an avid ocean swimmer (even through winter!). There are so many benefits to it, and I absolutely love it.

It’s been a big journey so far, and I’m really grateful for the support here at Target Life Fitness."
