THIS is what community footy is all about! 🔥

With Paterson Sportsground still undergoing drainage upgrades, we can’t thank the Dungog Rugby League Football Club (Warriors) committee enough for getting behind us and making this home game happen. Their support means our players, supporters, and the entire Dungog Shire community still get to enjoy a huge day of local footy 👏💯

A tough afternoon for the boys, but the effort was there from the opening whistle to the final siren — it just wasn’t our day.

Plenty of heart, plenty of determination, and no shortage of commitment shown in the blue and white. Results don’t always fall your way, but the group will learn, regroup and come back stronger next week.

💙🤍 Playing for More Than Just the Game 🤍💙

In 2026, two jerseys will carry a story that means so much to our club and community.

The Goldspring family have been longtime supporters and sponsors of Paterson River RLFC, and the unexpected passing of Ryan Goldspring in 2025 deeply impacted everyone in our little community.

Out of our utmost respect for the Goldspring family and his dad, Barry, whose support of our club over many years has never gone unnoticed we felt it was only right to honour Ryan.

This season, the #5 jersey will proudly live on in Ryan’s name — a tribute to a young man gone far too soon, but never forgotten.

In a special show of appreciation, the #2 jersey has also been dedicated to Barry and the Goldspring family, recognising their ongoing support and commitment to our club.

Together, #2 and #5 will take the field each week — a powerful reminder that this club is built on more than just footy, it’s built on community, respect, and standing by one another.

We play this season with Ryan in our hearts. 💙

🇦🇺🏉 ANZAC DAY – LEST WE FORGET 🏉🇦🇺

This Anzac Day, Paterson River RLFC stands in remembrance of the courage, sacrifice and spirit of all those who have served our country. We pause to honour the men and women who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.

The Paterson community will come together for the Paterson Dawn Service, with the march forming at Stockers & Partridge at 5:25am, stepping off at 5:30am and proceeding to the Paterson Cenotaph for the service.

The service will be supported by the 234th Army Cadet Unit providing a Catafalque Party, along with students from the Paterson and Martins Creek schools.

Following the service, all veterans, players, members and community are invited to the Paterson Tavern for a traditional mince on toast breakfast (gold coin donation) and refreshments.

We encourage our Paterson River family to attend, and take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the day.
