Heartbeat of Football

Heartbeat of Football Promoting heart health through sport There is a tendency to focus on heart issues only after a tragedy, however Heartbeat of Football aims to change this.

In Australia, it is believed there have been 10 cases of heart-related deaths of amateur football players in the past two years, with the latest on a Sunday morning in January 2016. As ever-increasing members of the community see the benefits of, and enjoy taking part in, amateur sport, Heartbeat of Sport is proactive in both education to prevent heart-related events, and in procuring the necessary equipment (in the form of defibrillators) to help prevent deaths following on-field heart incidences.

❤️ Heart health starts with a conversation.

Great to bring to Carss Park FC — taking heart health directly into the community, where it can make a real difference.

❤️ Awareness – knowing your numbers and your risk
🩺 Early intervention – identifying potential warning signs sooner
🤝 Community – making heart health accessible and relevant
💬 Conversations – encouraging people to talk about their heart health with family, friends and their GP

Because sometimes a simple conversation — or a simple check — can be the first step towards saving a life.

This is an important breakthrough. Hope something similar happens here in Oz...women deserve better.

After decades of underdiagnosis for women, this is a landmark moment.❤️

Heart attacks have been radically redefined in new international guidelines, which could transform care for tens of thousands of women in the UK.

The new focus on finding three less common causes of heart attacks, which mainly affect women, should ensure more accurate diagnoses and that people are given the best treatments.
