Melbourne University Water Polo Club (MUPolo) is renowned throughout water polo circles as a fun-loving and welcoming club. The club is proud of its reputation and endeavours to continue its friendly atmosphere, whilst striving to provide an opportunity for all members to compete in this successful water polo organisation. MUPolo celebrates its 59th year of operation in 2022, and during this time
the club has had a long and illustrious list of members, including a number of Australian representatives in both the Men’s and Women’s national teams. MUPolo aims to provide services to members on a number of levels with multiple teams in both the Men’s and Women’s divisions of the Water Polo Victoria competitions. In addition to these teams, Melbourne University Water Polo Club also competes in Polo by the Pier, Canberra Cup and the University Nationals. MUPolo’s numerous teams and coaches, enables the club to cater for any level of skill and experience, from the first timer up to the Australian representative. Another important side of Melbourne University Water Polo Club is its social side. MUPolo provides a social outlet for students, alumni and members of the general public, with numerous barbecues, pub crawls and other social outings (such as the MUPolo Beer Pong Tournament, MUPolo Annual Boat Cruise and the MUPolo Lawns Bowls Tournament) each year. The major event each year is the MUPolo Champions Ball, where outstanding players, club men and women, and social members are honoured with various awards.
