Parkes Masters Croquet was a fabulous day filled with fun and a friendly atmosphere.
The day was opened by Parkes Deputy Mayor, Deputy Mayor Councillor Marg Applebee - Parkes Shire Council with Games instigator, Parkes Shire Councillor Louise O’Leary in attendance as a volunteer.
Players in pairs played six games each with Parkes locals Beth Thomas taking gold and Greg Cox taking bronze. (See full list of winners below).
Rik Mills, Croquet NSW Secretary, was the tournament director and players travelled from Canberra, Griffith, Holroyd, Lismore, Nelson Bay and Orange.
Many positive comments were made on the smooth running of the day and the friendly welcome of the Parkes Croquet Club.

Saturday 16th March
What a special day at Parkes Croquet. We joined together to remember our beloved member Kerriean, along with her husband Roger, and children, Sharon and Andrew. With Alison Westcott in attendance to lead us in a lovely ceremony we dedicated one of our beautiful new bench seats, with the brass inscription: ‘Kerriean’s Rest’.
Sharon and Andrew unveiled the plaque, covered with one of their mother’s beautifully handcrafted quilts.
Kerriean Hood - too beautiful to ever be forgotten.

Saturday 9th March
Happy Birthday to the birthday girl! A nice breeze to keep us cool. Some good fun games. And a celebratory morning tea. All adds up to another great morning at croquet.

Another beautiful morning for a relaxing but competitive game of croquet! We managed to get in 2 games before the rain came down, just in time for morning tea. It was great to see Suzie bring along her daughter Angela and grandson Alec, who assure us they will be back! Thanks to Evelyn, Bill T and Sharon for the home cooked goodies! Join us for a game Wednesday 5pm or next Saturday 8.30am.

Saturday 24th February
The cooler morning enticed 16 players out today with lots of fun and laughter happening - as well as a final game practising our more serious attitude in preparation for Parkes Masters Games in under 4 weeks time.
A big welcome to Lyn who is really proving herself as a novice player. One to watch for sure!
Thanks to Suzie and Bill T for supplying us with morning tea.

Saturday Feb 10
Great to see all courts full this morning plus extra! A huge welcome back to Bill Paul who played so well after his long enforced hiatus. It was good to see him looking back to his old self again. Great to see young Sam back as well. We always love to welcome juniors to the courts.
Come on down to Parkes Tennis on Saturday mornings to enjoy some fun and friendship in the sun.

So many beautiful people that we know at our parkes croquet club are part of this lovely community.

Just a reminder that the Free Monday Night Monthly Meal will be in the Parkes Uniting Church Hall again on Monday night 2 February 2026 from 6pm - 7pm. 2-Course Home Cooked Meal, including dessert, served in air-conditioned comfort. Everyone & anyone in the Community most welcome. Bring your family and friends and enjoy an evening of friendship.

Blessings to us yet again with the weather - Saturday morning is once more the coolest of a heatwave week! Great fun on three full courts, lots of morning tea banter, and a positive, well attended meeting to follow.

Saturday 27th January
A cooler morning than of late. Such a relief! The lower temperature attracted some keen players who shared lots of fun and laughter on and off the courts. Come along on Saturday mornings and see what you’ve been missing!

Enjoying each other’s company being back on the croquet courts for 2024!
We did actually play some games as well as all the social frivolities.
Tuesday games start up again this coming week 5:30 pm for 5:45. Come along and join us!
