*OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE IWCA*

2027 WINDSURFER WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Langebaan, South Africa | 6–12 March 2027

Dear Fellow Windsurfers,

On behalf of the International Windsurfer Class Association (IWCA), I am delighted to officially announce the opening of entries for the *2027 Windsurfer World Championships* , which will be held in *Langebaan, South Africa, from 6 to 12 March 2027* .

The Organizing Authority is the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club Sailing Academy and has published the official Event Website Page (EWP) and the Notice of Race (NOR). These contain essential information regarding the championship, including eligibility, registration procedures, event programme, accommodation, travel information, charter equipment, logistics, and racing information.

The Event Website will serve as the central source of information for competitors and visitors throughout the preparation period and during the championship itself.

The Official Notice Board (ONB) will be available both on the Event Website and on the dedicated Official WhatsApp Messaging Group (WMG). To ensure maximum accessibility and rapid communication, all official notices, amendments, communications, and competitor information will be published simultaneously on both platforms. Competitors are strongly encouraged to join the WMG and to regularly monitor both ONB platforms, as they will constitute the official channels of communication before and during the championship.

The 2027 Windsurfer World Championships will also mark the *50th Anniversary* of the *Windsurfer Class* , making this event a particularly significant milestone in the history of our class. We look forward to celebrating this special occasion together with Windsurfer sailors from every corner of the world.

I encourage all competitors to read the Notice of Race carefully and to submit their entries and charter request *as early as possible*. Early registration will greatly assist the Organizing Authority and Charter Board Suppliers in planning and ensuring the best possible event experience for all participants.

We look forward to welcoming you to South Africa and sharing a memorable week of racing, friendship, and celebration in Langebaan.

Thanks to everyone who came down today and got out on the water to help showcase our sport to the Australian Sailing Conference.

Despite the cold conditions, we had around 14 Lt’s on the water doing some fun races. The visitors were very impressed with both our sailors and PYC. Lots of photos were taken, including by Australian Sailing.
Great effort by everyone who supported the day!

The 2025/26 Inaugural Victorian traveller series was a big success! We had a high number of competitors at each event, with lots of fun on and off the water!

A huge thank you to all the Yacht Clubs McCrae Yacht Club Yacht Club Rye Yacht Clubb WestMordialloc Sailing ClubYFrankston Yacht Club SailParkdale Yacht ClubYacht Club and Parkdale Yacht Club.

Without these fantastic clubs and their wonderful volunteers, this series would not have been possible. And a huge thank you to our awesome State Rep Ash Daff for all his hard work in organising the series! 👏🏻
