🎉 Congratulations to Chris Wheatley on being awarded Life Membership of the Sharks!

Chris is the ultimate doer and someone the club can rely on year after year. From committee meetings and coaching to setting up, cleaning up, running the BBQ and keeping every team’s equipment in immaculate order, Chris always puts his hand up and gets the job done. He coaches with heart, passion and a competitive spirit, while making sure every player gets an equal opportunity to develop, enjoy their footy and love the game.

Everything Chris does is with a smile, a laugh and that unmistakable Sharks spirit. From his early days helping out at Auskick to becoming an equipment maestro, BBQ extraordinaire, coach, committee man and great friend, Chris has given so much to our club and community. We’re incredibly grateful for everything he does and proud to welcome him as a Sharks Life Member — and, as we believe, the first Park Orchards junior to return as a parent and receive this honour. Granger has been a Shark since the very beginning of Auskick in 2014 and has shown an incredible commitment to our club and wider community throughout his 13 years with the Sharks. As Club Captain this year, he has consistently put others first — helping at club functions, community events, Auskick, the Dawn Service and with set-up and pack-up whenever needed.

Granger always represents the Sharks with respect, seeks to learn from his coaches and proudly lives by our club values. His willingness to help others, give back and contribute wherever he can makes him a wonderful example of true community spirit. Congratulations, Granger! ❤️🤍🖤🦈

🎉 Congratulations to Meg Rankin, 2026 Club Person of the Year!

Meg has been instrumental in the growth and success of our girls program, from recruiting and supporting our first-ever U9 girls team to creating a pathway that saw 100% of eligible top-age girls transition seamlessly into the Senior Women’s program. She continues to give generously of her time, coaching, mentoring, supporting teams and contributing to the club’s Welfare team.

Meg’s knowledge and passion for girls football is highly valued, with the YJFL also seeking her input on the future of girls football and age-group structures. Her commitment, leadership and genuine care for our players have made her a huge part of why our girls program is thriving. A very deserving Club Person of the Year — congratulations, Meg! ❤️🤍🖤🦈

🎉 Congratulations to David Cullen, 2026 Club Person of the Year!

Dave has shown outstanding professionalism and commitment throughout the year, particularly in leading our committee meetings and navigating the complex process of the club’s league change application. His ability to research, understand and bring together the various by-laws, constitutions, surveys, correspondence and committee input was exceptional, ensuring the club had all the facts needed to make informed decisions.

Despite the enormous time commitment, Dave continued to give back as a Team Manager, an active and supportive parent, and a willing volunteer at club events and social functions. His dedication, reliability and willingness to step up whenever needed make him a truly deserving recipient. Congratulations, Dave! ❤️🤍🖤🦈

What an incredible day for our Sharks yesterday with all 3 of our Grand Finalist teams being crowned the 2026 Premiers in their divisions: U14 Girls (Div 3), U15 Boys (Div 2) and U16 Girls (Div 1) 🤩

A Sharks player was awarded Best on Ground in each match! Congratulations to:
U14 Girls - Mila Kam
U15 Boys - Zethan George
U16 Girls - Sienna Marcou

3 of our U15 Boys also celebrated their milestone games yesterday:
Phoenix Campanaro - 50 Games
TJ Noseda - 100 Games
Lincoln James - 100 Games

We couldn’t have asked for better weather and the atmosphere at Domeney and Ford Park was incredible with huge crowds of supporters! Thank you so much to everyone who came to cheer for our teams and help get them over the line 👏

We’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to Chris Wheatley for putting so much time and energy into setting up, packing up and ensuring everything ran smoothly over the course of the day at Domeney. You are such a legend Chris and we are all so grateful for your huge efforts 🙏🌟

Commiserations to our U16 Boys (Div 1) who lost their preliminary final in a hard fought contest yesterday. You should all hold your heads high for making it so far and having such a successful season 🙌

We are so proud of all of our Sharks and look forward to celebrating everyone’s fantastic achievements at our Presentation Day on Sunday 13th September.

The Sharks JFC will be updating all of our club guernseys/game day jumpers in 2027 so are offering this year’s players the opportunity to purchase their 2026 jumper as a special memento of their time with the Sharks and a piece of the club’s history.

🏆 2026 GRAND FINALS 🏆

GRAND FINAL DAY is here and with THREE of our teams in Grand Final showdowns this Sunday, it’s set to go off 🔥 Our U16 Reds will also be fighting for their spot in next week’s big dance!

Our U14 Girls & U15 Boys will be playing back-to-back home Grand Finals at Domeney, and our U16 Girls will be playing their Grand Final at Ford Park 🤩

We’re calling on all Sharks families & friends to get behind these teams and show our support with a sea of red, white & black to help get them over the line ❤️🤍🖤

After the games, win or lose, join us back at the Domeney club rooms to celebrate our Mighty Sharks 🎉

The canteen will be open until the food runs out or bring along some snacks and order in some pizzas.

The bar will be open from around 5pm, as we are also the neutral host of a Youth Girls preliminary final after the U15 Boys’ game.
