Couple better fish today to kick off day 1 of the Australian Bass Tournaments Bass Pro round at Glenbawn dam.

Sitting just out of top 10 but with such a close comp, just need two good bites tomorrow to be in with a shot. Let’s see if we can make it happen. Tight Lines

Stoked to walk away with a podium finish, with a 3rd place finish at the Baroon Pocket Dam round of the Bass Electric Tour this weekend. With one of the biggest fields on anglers this season, it was a great comp, with plenty of fish caught, finding the bigger ones to get my bag of 2.74kg.

With not having a chance to prefish on the Saturday, I had to fly blind only going off where I found better fish a few weeks prior. Within my first five casts of the Sunday morning I had my bag, with one decent bass, and one that I upgraded later. Catching them mostly on a half ounce Rapala Crushcity Suspect, slow rolled off the bottom. The key was to find the better school with my Lowrance active target casting over the school and rolling it back consistently with no stops, the fish would race up 15ft plus feet to hit the plastic, if I stoped, they lost interest and wouldn’t chase it again. I also scoped a few more with the Crushcity jerk, as well as a Barambah Lures Viben8or 58r, when the bite died down, getting a good upgrade.

Overall a great weekend and result, which should keep me in the pointy end of the AOY race. Now to rerig everything and get ready for the Australian Bass Tournaments Bass Pro Glenbawn Dam round this weekend. Tight Lines

The last of the three back to back comps, wrapping up the S Tackle Hinze Dam round of the Bass Electric Tour. The dam fished a lot better than the rivers with plenty of numbers, but unfortunately couldn’t seem to find the bigger fish in the mix.

Most the fish were caught on masked vibes, Barambah Lures Viben8or 58Rs, and EJ TODD Slow blatt Spoons. Slow rolled up from them bottom.

After a very tough Clarence River event, we headed to the Australian Bass Tournaments Richmond River Round to make a comeback. Securing myself a 4th place finish for the comp.

The Clarence Round fished hard, I got the bites I needed but just couldn’t get the hook ups I needed.

For the Richmond river, Day one I kept the Daiwa Australia Kirly Kicker Frog in my hands all day. Skipping it into every spot I could. Landing myself 2 of my three fish limit. And dropping two more. I was sitting 6th after day one, and needed to get some more solid bites to be in with a chance.

Day 2 we fished a similar area of the river but after a few hours of no surface action. I grab a Bassman Spinnerbaits (Official) All terrain jig. And on the second cast, my line took off. Landing my first day of the day. I decided to stick with it, land a second good bass. But unable to get that last bite. Finishing up 4th overall.

A massive thanks to both my boaters, Dylan Walsh and Cody Edward’s for a great for couple days on the water. And to Peter Phelps for taking me out for a prefish.

Now onto Hinze Dam for the Bass Electric Tour round this weekend. Tight Lines

A great way to kick off the 2026 Bass Electric Tour with a top ten finish at the JML Anglers Alliance Somerset Dam round! Securing 7th place after a very hard competition.

Prefish day I found fish just about everywhere in the dam, but they were very tight lipped. Day 1 the initial plan was to head to pelican point, but decided to explore the kirkleigh flats instead, landing a number of undersized bass.

Changing it up for day 2, I stuck with my original plan and made the run up to pelican point and the three humps. The points were loaded with bass, and we managed to land several of them over the morning, getting some good upgrades to finish the bag. With 1/2 sliders and Hot Bite Fishing Spectres doing the damage!

Bring on the next round at Hinze dam in two weeks time, but first we are off to the Australian Bass Tournaments Bass Pro Double header in NSW next weekend! Tight Lines
