Another great day today, narrowly missing out on the win, still taking on a solid 2nd place finish in the nonnies at the Somerset Dam round of the Australian Bass Tournaments Bass Pro Series. Getting 6/6 fish for 10.77kg in total.

Getting all my better fish on a variety of strolling plastics on a 1/4oz Buckeye jighead.

A massive thanks to my Day 2 boater, John Siggs, for putting me on the fish today. And Tommy Woods yesterday.

Congrats to Steve Morgan for taking out the boater trophy. The dam is in its prime at the moment, now bring on Wivenhoe Dam, as we head into Prefish tomorrow! Tight Lines

Had a great weekend at the Barambah Lures Moogerah dam round of the Bass Electric Tour, walking away with a top 5 finish! Managing both days 2/2 fish bags with a total of 6.07kg!

The dam is one of my favorites and did not disappoint. Fishing extremely well, with plenty of quality bass hitting the deck. With me and Dad landing between 60 and 70 bass each session!

The majority of our better fish were caught strolling with the Rapala Crushcity jerks with 1/4 VMC Grip-R jigheads, and 1/2 oz john deer sliders. Targeting the deeper fish hard on the bottom in that 30-50ft mark.

My Lowrance Active Target 2 was integral to the weekend, being able to hit the fish right on the head, even out to 120ft. I definitely think it may be time to upgrade the 7in screen to something bigger but worked great.

My new Bluefin Boats J410 was the perfect set up for the electrics, plenty of space and speed, even when the wind and waves picked up!

Massive thanks to Dad for hoping on the boat and making it a great weekend. Another massive thanks to Barambah Lures for supporting myself and the tour.

A massive congratulations to Matt Taylor on taking out the win over the weekend, very well deserved.

After a great year, I ended up 6th for AOY, unfortunately not being able to fish Cressy hurt me right at the end but bring on next year! A massive congrats to Chesley on taking out the 2026 AOY!

Now onto AFTA later in the week, and then the ABT Bass Pro Queensland double header at Somerset and Wivenhoe. Tight Lines

Happy to be sitting in 6th place heading into day 2 tomorrow of the Barambah Lures Moogerah Dam round. Getting a solid 2/2 fish bag of 3.43kg today. But plenty of work to be done tomorrow to put myself in with a shot

Getting excited as we can close to the Moogerah dam round. It’s one of my favourite dams and produces a lot of big bass.

There is just over two weeks until the last singles round of the year! With the Barambah Lures Moogerah Dam round on the 15th and 16th of August!

Moogerah dam is consistently probably one of the best bass dams in QLD. Producing large numbers of quality bass year round, and we have timed it perfectly for the big fat winter bass to come on the chew!

It's going to be a great two comp days, with a BBQ on the Friday night for briefing, and then a dress up "P" party on the Saturday night at camp, so get your costumes together for a great night!

The team will be camping and holding briefing at the Lake Moogerah Caravan Park. The park has been kind enough to have reserved all the powered site for the tour competitors, so just give them a call and say you're fishing the tour, and they'll sort you out.

The prefish ban will come into effect on sunset, Tuesday the 4th of August!

It was great little weekend away fishing the Bass Electric Tour double header. Securing a top 20 finish at the Rapala Wyaralong Dam round and a solid 8th place finish at the Daiwa Australia Maroon dam round!

Friday morning, I decided to prefish Maroon dam, looking back in previously productive spots with not much lucky, finding a couple small bass on some random banks. After pulling up to Boonah caravan park and getting the batteries charging, we had a great time catching up with mates and having briefing.

Saturday morning we hit Wyaralong, with a hectic shotgun start and flying blind, I headed up the dam to some old spots I had previously marked. After a tough morning, I decided to tie on a silent lipless crank and started slow rolling it through the tree tops. In the first few casts, I got railed by a wyaralong giant, straight into a brush pile. On the first cast after I retied, my line knotted up sending the lure flying. After another quick retie, I hooked and landed my first and only bass of the day. Which was still enough to keep me in the top half of the field, landing some valuable AOY points.

After a great catch up and pizza thanks to Brad on the Saturday night. We were all rigged up and ready to go for Sunday morning. A quick pie and coffee at the Boonah Bakery and we the boat was launched. After a rough start in the morning, I headed back to a bank I found on prefish, slow rolling Daiwa Australia 2.5in bait ju**ie minnows, to get my bag. Then headed out to deeper water, where I scoped a number of upgrades with Barambah Lures 55 Stinger Shrimps, with no chin weight, to get a super slow and finesse fall. With my bag securing me a nice 8th place and a great Barambah Lures prize pack.

Overall, it was a great weekend, and the first two comps in the new Alloycraft J410, thanks to Bluefin Boats. I will be sure to put plenty more pictures and videos of the build very soon.

Now to pack up the bass gear and get the surf rods out to go chase some tailor and sharks off Fraser Island in a couple weeks. Tight Lines

Another great Moogerah trip a few weeks ago. With over 55 bass landed for the morning, with a handful of fat 50s hitting the deck.

Went out to test out some new batteries, and do some filming. But also managed to get into a few Moogerah giants. I got some great videos of the bites on the Lowrance Active Target 2.

The bite changed a bit from the previous trip. Rotating between Hot Bite Fishing G2 spoons and 1/2oz Rapala Crushcity Suspects. Finding the bass hard on the bottom and slow rolling over them. Managing 10 fish in 10 casts. When I wind picked up, I decided to drift around and target solo fish with the Crushcity jerks.

Overall a great day, and is going to a great video when I get it all edited up. Tight Lines

Looking back at a recent trip me and my brother took to Moogerah Dam. Which turning into one of our best trips of the year. Accounting for over 80 bass between the two of us, and 10 bass over that magic 50cm mark.

Starting off the day sounding around using my Lowrance Active Target 2 and CMAP Social Maps to follow the drop offs on the spit. The bass were hugged hard on the bottom, making it very hard to see on downscan at first, but with the active target, you could see the bumps moving along the bottom.

Once located we casted out Hot Bite Fishing G1 and G2 spoons. Letting it hit the bottom and rolling them back at a relatively fast pace, not stopping the roll unless the fish stopped chasing. The whole school would race up and smash the spoon. As the day went on, they schooled up underneath the boat and we caught several fishing the spoon vertically, which is a lot of fun with big bass.

The G2 Spoons accounted the majority of the bass, matching the hatch perfectly with all the small boney bream the bass were coughing up. Overall, a great day on the water with good company. I can't wait for the fishing to get even better as it cools down. Tight Lines
