Reformer Appreciation Post:

Can we take a moment to appreciate these beauties?
My Australian-made masterpieces from PilatesEquip are quite possibly my favourite thing in the studio (besides scout the studio dog). They’re my favourite colour green, they’re smooth, comfortable, incredibly sturdy, and the quality is second to none. But the best part? They help people become stronger, move better, and feel more confident in their bodies.
The added tower opens up a whole new world of exercises, giving us so many more movement options than a standard reformer. They’re a little bit unique, a little bit fancy and they definitely take your workout to the next level. Because you deserve the best quality equipment and I personally absolutely love using them.

have your hips felt tight lately?
Long hours sitting, driving, desk work, stress, poor posture, injuries, pregnancy, lack of movement variety and even intense training without enough mobility work can all contribute to tight, stiff and overworked hips.
When the hips lose mobility, the body often starts compensating somewhere else, usually the lower back, knees or even the neck. That’s when people start noticing aching backs, sore glutes, poor posture and feeling “stuck” when they move.
Don’t worry I can help!
In Pilates we focus on improving hip mobility, glute strength, pelvic stability and spinal movement to help the body move more efficiently again. It’s not just about stretching your hips.
It’s about teaching the body how to move well.
You’ll leave my studio wanting to do the hula!

Have you got health and fitness goals for 2026?

It’s already June, but the good news is there’s still 6 whole months left to make amazing progress.
Imagine how proud you’ll feel in December if you start today. Maybe you’ll be touching your toes for the first time, nailing your first inversion, getting up off the floor with ease, or lifting your grandkids without a second thought.
Big changes don’t happen overnight, but they do happen when you keep showing up.

Today is a great day to move your body. Your future self will thank you for it.

A little appreciation post for two incredibly talented Darwin business boss babes!
A huge thank you to Teddy at Stellar Beauty by Teddy for making me feel absolutely beautiful for this photoshoot. From the moment I walked through the door, I was pampered and spoiled with the full glam treatment. Teddy, your talent is amazing, and you made me feel so confident and special.

And another huge thank you to Stevie from North Australia Media, the superstar behind the camera. I was incredibly nervous, but you made me feel so comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire shoot. Your talent, patience, and encouragement made the experience so enjoyable.

Because of you both, I now have these beautiful photos to cherish forever. Thank you for helping me step outside my comfort zone and creating something so special.

Legs in tabletop is more than just a lower extremity position. It helps wake up the deep core muscles while teaching the body how to stabilise the pelvis and spine. It challenges coordination, balance and control without needing to move fast.
We often use tabletop to improve abdominal strength, support posture and create awareness around pelvic stability. These are all important for everyday movements like walking, lifting, bending and even getting out of bed.

Sometimes in Pilates sessions we use props. We use them to create variety, challenge the body in different ways and improve body awareness. Sometimes props assist us and help position the body correctly or offer support in the harder moves. You’ll often see equipment like squishy balls, hand weights, resistance bands and magic circles in class.
Why do we use them?
Because props can help activate certain muscle groups, improve posture and alignment, increase stability, challenge coordination and add extra support when needed. They also help keep movement fun, creative and functional. They are a great tool for progressing movements to meet clients goals or even to support movement when you are first starting out.
Sometimes a small prop can completely change how your body connects to a movement, helping you move with more control, strength and confidence.

Props are fun! Which one is your favourite?

“Motion is lotion for the joints… but dosage matters.”

When osteoarthritis flares up, the goal usually isn’t to stop moving completely. it’s to move smarter and gentler while calming the joint down. Too much rest can actually make joints feel stiffer and weaker over time.
Things that often help during a flare-up can be as simple as Gentle mobility work, Short walks instead of long intense exercise, Pilates with modified range and lower resistance, Hydrotherapy/swimming, Light stretching, Heat before movement and ice after if inflamed.
The key is reducing irritation while still keeping circulation, muscle activation and joint movement happening.
On flare days, movement should feel supportive and not punishing. Pain that settles shortly after exercise is often okay, but sharp increasing pain usually means the body needs modification.

Don’t let your arthritis stop you from moving.
