SUPPORT CREW ⛰️🍃 this is the most important part of the whole weekend!
Our support crew, all our well wishers and the people who donated to the cause…we 💯 hands down couldn’t have completed this BRUTAL final Oxfam Trailwalker challenge.
Stevie O for dropping us off at the start line and putting up with the nervous energy and making sure we had everything we needed.
Cathy and Pete Delarue for being at our first checkpoint greeting us with a beautiful smile, some of Pete’s bestever humour, a chair and all our supplies.
Chelsea and Wayne Beck all I have to say is LOVE YOUR WORK, unbelievable support crew. These two humans spent 12 hours out on course, manning 3 checkpoints making sure we had everything we needed (and I’m not talking just having what we packed). Even holding up blankets so the world didn’t see our bits as we freshened up! Energy was always high the moment we saw them and then leaving (although that was hard to leave them!!)
Thanks to Brett Dore for making the trek up to Mt Dandenong at 1 in the morning!
To my darling sister and Jamie, I can honestly say I have never been at a lower point physically and mentally in all of my life (and Lori was with me in a birthing suite!) when we crossed that checkpoint 5 at 1000 steps, what you did for us at the time in the morning is so appreciated.
Then Cathy and Pete at the finish line with the Delarue kids (😭😭😭) and again Lori and Jamie was so lovely. Cathy and Pete cooked us bacon and egg rolls as we had a recovery ice cold beer, that was above and beyond!
Thankyou to everyone who wished us well, who sent me messages pre/during and post (even on course I can’t tell you how much those words helped me ) and to those who donated money, we just love everyone so much!
I can tell you without each and everyone one of you we wouldn’t have finished….BUT WE DID!!
