In 1964, the Ithaca Creek State School P&C Association finally constructed the school swimming pool on the lower portion of the school site, near to Dacca Street. The funding of the pool commenced in 1925 but it took forty years before the hard work of two generations of parents was rewarded. The school pool is 25 metres in length and has six swimming lanes. A grand stand (one of the first swimmi

ng pool stands in Queensland) was also constructed on the eastern side of the pool and can accommodate approximately 200 people. The Ithaca Creek Swimming Clubwas established in 1968, more than three years after the pool was constructed. Since inception, the Ithaca Creek Sharx Swimming Club (previously as an Unincorporated Association) and the P&C have maintained and/or upgraded the pool and facilities and operated the Club under a lease provided by the Department of Education and Training, through the Principal of Ithaca Creek State School. Club activities include:
- coaching programs
- learn to swim
- stroke correction
- squads for kids and adults
- Friday Club nights
- Club Championships
- fund raising and member events

⭐️ Nominations are open for a big club night welcoming our youngest swimmers and celebrating our graduating Year 6 legends! ⭐️

If you’re a newer family or swimmer, this is an awesome week to jump in, meet the crew, and have a splash. And our Year 6 grads are invited to join the relay — just request relay access in Support so we can build the teams. 🎓🦈

This week’s feature race is the 100m Butterfly — Sharx who qualify can enter by requesting access in Support. 🦋

All other swimmers can nominate up to three unique strokes — no repeats, mix it up, have fun! 🤸‍♂️🌊

🎃👻Halloween Club Night 31 October🎃👻

We’re still open for business this Halloween — no amount of trick-or-treating is going to trump a Sharx Club Night! Come down for not just a regular swim night but an extra special spooky edition, with our captains organising a Halloween bake stall, a “guess the lolly jar” challenge, and some fun witchy relay races. It’s going to be a frightfully good night at the pool!

If anyone can help with some baking it would be much appreciated! 🎂🧁
