2027 Specialized S-Works Crux - Building the lightest gravel bike possible...

Every now and then we get the great pleasure to build a dream ride for our customers such as the recently completed Specialized S-Works Crux in Agave Grey. The customer supplied his own wheelset - a pair of the stunning Lightweight Mielestein Art carbon wheels complemented by a full SRAM Red EXPLR AXS 1x13 speed groupset, Roval Alpinist one piece cockpit and S-Works Mirror saddle. The final weight? 6.6kg! This will be one unbeatable rig in any gravel event.

Specialized Crux 5 - The lightest, most aerodynamic gravel bike has just released.

Hi to all the 'gravelistas' and 'groadies' out there. Here's some news you might want to catch. Specialized have lifted the embargo on their eagerly anticipated Crux 5 gravel bike. Taking inspiration from the Tarmac 8, they have created a ridicuclously light range of gravel bikes that are scientifically proven to be 15.2 watts faster than the outgoing models, thanks principally to aerodynamic improvements in the wind tunnel and real world testing.

Promoting time to finish as the new all-important metric for gravel races, testing with the S-Works Crux proved Specialized team rider Demi Vollering would have been nearly 10 minutes faster in the last edition of the Unbound gravel race.

The range includes 4 models, each with 2 cool colourways. Choose from Comp, Expert, S-Level and S-Works. Even the heaviest model is just 7.8kg, with S-Works builds coming in as low as 6.9kg depending on tyre choice.

It's 1979, Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" I was at no.1 on the charts in Australia and Wooly's Wheels was just getting rolling! Just in for a minor service, this is one of our first shop branded bikes - a steel beauty featuring all-Japanese Tange chromoly tubing, Sugino/Suntour 10 speed drivetrain and Dia-Compe brakes all rolling on the original Araya 27" alloy quick release wheels.

The drilled brake levers and finely scultptured alloy quill stem elicit a sense of nostalgia unlikely to be replicated as the current era of bikes age somewhat less gracefully. Complete with original paint and decals, even we are astonished at the durability, quality and ridability of our customer's every day commuter.
