As the sun rises on our final day in Fiji, some final comments on the trip.
The tournament is one that is certainly one that has been worthwhile participating in, and is certainly one I think we should look at doing again in the future.
The players on this trip have certainly set the standard for future Fusion teams to follow. The seamless way you merged in with the Fijian cultures and families was such a special thing to witness. I’m sure there will be many a tear spilt when that final goodbye has to happen.
We have all made some lifelong friends and memories.
To the talented athletes I have had the pleasure to coach during this trip a huge thank you. You have made the trip one of the highlights of my coaching career so far.
To Christine and Wayne who stepped up as our manager and scorer extraordinaire, a huge thanks. And hopefully it has started a glimmer of relighting the spark for Wayne to return to scoring at the highest level.
And finally to our parents and families who support these girls and allow them to take part in competitions like this, thank you. You have raised talented netballers, but more than that, you have raised well rounded, caring, intelligent young ladies.
When we get home we will post more photos and videos.
