Well the 2025 season is over and I look back at these pics and can’t believe how far we have come.. 12 months ago he was going to be sacked and end up the most expensive paddock ornament ever. After 12 months of haemorrhaging thousands with typical OTT red flags , guts/ulcers, X-rays, saddle fittings, replacing saddles, trialing bits, replacing bits, diet, new diet, another new diet, specialised farrier, wedges, injections, kissing spine
issues I was done.. until I looked into his beautiful kind eyes and I really think he asked me to give him one last chance .. a decision I’ll
Never regret.. such a learning curve but on the flip side the bond we have is incredible.. we have taken it slow.. re inventing an ex race horse can be a slow and challenging process, often requiring you to work
Through deep seated anatomical limitations.. also working with their smart and sensitive natures which makes them particularly responsive .. often at times when you havnt asked or not expecting it .. so the journey is challenging yet rewarding.. so with those incredibly long legs and a 17.1h long frame to be 12 months in and consistently scoring 67-69% im so incredibly proud of him.. his worth ethic is fabulous always ready to work, and such an exciting ride!!
I have learnt so much, have had so many knowledgeable people around me helping and supporting me along the way.. feel very humbled by my inner and outer circle ..
Looking very forward to the 2026 calendar being released and in the mean time he’s hanging with his herd under the trees for a well earnt holiday.
