Something different for the Snowy Rail Bridge - a great event!

If your travelling, tie it in with a day ebike hire or a multi day Self Guided Tour on the East Gippsland Rail Trail

Last year… she vanished.

As whispers of frost crept into East Gippsland, our silhouetted Queen of Steampunk did what many do — slipped away in search of warmer horizons. A scandal, really, given the very spirit of the East Gippsland Winter Festival.

And so the question lingers…

What will July 18 hold?

Will the lanterns glow, the music rise beneath the trestle…
—and will she return?

Join us beneath the towering Snowy Rail Bridge for an evening of firelight, music, and vintage-industrial magic. Wander through a world where imagination and heritage collide, with:

🔥 Fireside drinks & winter warmers
🎶 Live local music to stir the soul
🎩 Steampunk style (however you choose to wear it)

Because if the rumours are true, you won’t want to miss her return.
—or her absence.

More and more, we're seeing groups of friends booking this tour together.

Sometimes it's a group celebrating a milestone birthday.

Sometimes it's a cycling club or group of friends looking for somewhere new to explore.

And often, it's people who have organised their own cycling holidays for years, but now value their time differently. They'd rather spend their holiday enjoying the experience than researching routes, booking accommodation, organising luggage transfers and coordinating the logistics.

That's where we come in.

Most people book this tour thinking it's about cycling.

They leave talking about the people they travelled with, the conversations shared over dinner, the local stories, and the places they discovered along the way.

The bike ride is simply the vehicle that brings it all together.

Most tours would finish quietly after the final ride.

Not this one.

Our final day in the saddle takes us from Tostaree back towards Orbost, following the East Gippsland Rail Trail through open countryside and alongside the magnificent Snowy River floodplains.

As we approach Orbost, we reach one of the most iconic landmarks in East Gippsland — the Snowy Rail Bridge.

While Stage 1 of the restoration is now complete, riders can experience the bridge from both ends, ride beneath the impressive structure and gain a true appreciation for its scale as it stretches across the floodplains.

It's a special place.

A reminder of the region's history, the determination of the local community and the vision for what this incredible asset will become in the years ahead.

But we're still not finished.

The afternoon takes us through to Marlo — where the Snowy River finally meets the sea — before continuing on to Cape Conran, one of Victoria's most spectacular coastal landscapes.

Along the way, we stop at the new Sailors Grave Brewing venue for a well-earned drink and another story worth sharing.

One of the things guests often comment on throughout the week is the people they meet. From winery owners to local business operators, there always seems to be a story behind the place, and those stories bring East Gippsland to life.

By now, the group has experienced rail trails, lakes, wineries, hot springs, country towns and coastal wilderness.

And somehow, every day has offered something a little different.

As the sun begins to lower, we gather one final time at the Marlo Hotel overlooking the estuary.

Good food.
Good company.
A spectacular view.

The perfect finale to a week that is so much more than a cycling tour.

It's East Gippsland experienced properly.

By Day 5, something really special starts happening in the group.

People who arrived expecting a great cycling holiday begin to realise they're experiencing something much deeper.

Yes, the riding is beautiful.

Today's journey from Lakes Entrance through Nowa Nowa and on to Tostaree offers some of the most peaceful riding of the week.

Long stretches of rail trail.
Quiet countryside.
No traffic stress.
Just the simple pleasure of moving through the landscape at a relaxed pace.

But by now, guests have also discovered that this tour is about far more than the kilometres ridden.

Over the week they've shared stories with passionate local business operators and community members, visited places they would never have found on their own and heard the history, characters and stories that bring East Gippsland to life.

There always seems to be a story worth sharing.

A local character.
A hidden place.
A conversation that makes you see the region differently.

That's what makes this tour special.

One recent guest summed it up perfectly:

*"This is a comprehensive tour... more than I expected."*

And that's exactly what we hope people take away.

Not just memories of great riding, but a genuine connection to East Gippsland and the people who make it such a special place.

A rest day in the middle of a cycling tour?

Absolutely.

Because the Ride Relax Discover Tour isn’t about squeezing in maximum kilometres — it’s about genuinely enjoying the journey.

After breakfast in Lakes Entrance, guests can enjoy a relaxed morning walk, free time by the water or simply slow down and take in the atmosphere before we head across to Metung.

Then comes one of the tour highlights…

An afternoon soaking in the Metung Hot Springs overlooking the Gippsland Lakes. 🌿

And honestly, by this point in the week most guests are fully switched off from normal life.

No planning.
No schedules to manage.
No worrying about where to go next.

Just beautiful places, good company and being completely looked after.

That balance between riding and relaxing is exactly why this tour appeals to so many people who want an experience that feels immersive rather than exhausting.
