Since its opening in 1997, The Yoga Room has grown alongside the Orange yoga community. The Yoga Room offers classes for beginners as well as experienced yoga practitioners in a friendly environment. The method of Yoga we teach at The Yoga Room is Iyengar Yoga. Iyengar Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga because it uses the yoga poses, applied to the physical body, as a way of studying the self. Classes

at The Yoga Room emphasise building a strong foundation at Introductory and Beginner Levels. We offer the following class levels: Introductory; Beginner; Level 1; and Level 2. To assist students to deepen their understanding of the subject of Yoga, we offer workshops in a range of areas including women’s yoga and starting a home practice. All teachers at The Yoga Room are certified Iyengar Yoga teachers or teachers in training in the Iyengar Yoga method.

We are very excited that Lulu Bull, Snr Iyengar Teacher, is coming to our studio to teach a weekend workshop. Lulu Bull is a senior Iyengar Teacher Level 3. She is the director and principal teacher at the Blue Mountains Iyengar Yoga Studio. Lulu has strong ties to the Iyengar family, having been a direct student of BKS Iyengar. With over 40 years of dedicated practice, Lulu has developed a keen eye and intuitive understanding, bringing clarity and insight into her teaching.

This workshop is open to students with 6 months experience.

Saturday 3.00-5.00pm – Restorative and Pranayama
Sunday 9.00-11.30am - Asana

We love teaching yoga and we welcome new students! Step into our friendly studio and discover why Iyengar Yoga is a great foundation for building a practice that is safe, steady and rewarding. We are offering a Discounted 10-Pass for new students. You can use the pass in any of our classes but if you are starting your yoga journey we have two beginner classes which are a perfect place to start:

Tuesdays 6.15-7.30pm; and
Thursdays 5.45-7.00pm.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATIONS
Thank you to students who came along to celebrate International Yoga Day on Sunday in the studio. Fiona taught a free class using a chair to practice within the framework of our philosophy topic this term: Abyasa (action, practice) and Vairagya (restraint, non attachment, observation). We then had brunch together whilst discussing the philosophy topic in relation to our practice. It was a lovely way to spend few hours spent with our yoga community. Thank you to all our teachers who contributed to the brunch. The teachers provided brunch to the students as a way of saying 'thank you' for their dedication and hard work.

It's International Yoga Day on Sunday!!!!
We are celebrating this auspicious day, and our studio and students, with a free class from 9.00-10.00am followed by brunch and a chat. All students are very welcome to come along and practice together. It's likely to be raining so it sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday morning in downtown Orange!
