TRAIL LEG AT P6 – WHY IT MATTERS ⛳️
At P6 (shaft parallel to the ground on the downswing), the trail leg plays a huge role in controlling low point, strike, and pressure movement.
A good checkpoint is having the trail leg sitting in roughly the 20–25° range of flex. Depending on the shot you’re trying to hit, it can be slightly more or slightly less, but this is a great reference point for most golfers.
✅ Swing Cue:
Get Forward
Feel pressure moving into the lead side and your body continuing forward through impact.
🏌️ Drills to Improve It:
• Wrench Drill – Learn to pivot around the lead hip and move pressure forward.
• Bowler Drill – Encourages proper sequencing and forward movement.
• 90/90/90 Drill – Builds awareness of impact alignments and a balanced finish.
A better trail leg at P6 won’t magically fix everything, but it can make ball-first contact, compression, and consistency much easier.
