Indian Ocean Reining & Western Performance Club Inc Affiliate of the NRHA - National Reining Horse Association

Founded in 1966, the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of the reining horse in a fun-filled, family atmosphere. It serves as the standard setting body for the sport of reining worldwide.

​The Indian Ocean Reining & Western Performance Club Inc. (IORWPC) was founded in 2022 with the chief mission to promote the equine sport of reining

and encourage the showing of reining horses in Western Australia. Its key objectives are to:

- encourage the development and public interest in reining horse shows through the promotion of public competition, public exhibitions, merchandise and printed material
- support proper standards of performance and judging
- offer coaching and competitive opportunities in the sport of reining
- promote the club within Western Australia and Australian communities
- ensure a duty of care to all members of the club and animal welfare
- provide all its services in a way that is fair to everyone
- ensure all present and future members receive fair and equal treatment
- encourage the development and breeding of reining horses
- ensure and to maintain suitable standards of professional conduct for providing a fun
filled, family orientated atmosphere

Dear competitors, volunteers, and everyone planning to attend the Indian Ocean Reining Have A Go Show this Sunday, 31st May.

Our committee has been closely monitoring the weather forecast over the past week and has made the unfortunate decision to postpone this weekend’s show.

As much as we wanted the event to go ahead, the safety of all horses and people involved is our highest priority, not only while attending the event, but also while travelling to and from the grounds.

We will be refunding all show payments to competitors and will begin working on rescheduling this event. We greatly appreciate your support and understanding.

Please keep an eye on our page for updates regarding the rescheduling of this event.

Also, be sure to check out our upcoming Indian Ocean Reining events:

- Wayne Hinder Clinic in July
- Another “Have A Go Show” planned for early August

We hope to see you at another event soon. Stay safe and enjoy your long weekend.

What a fantastic and successful Training Reining Show for the Indian Ocean Reiners! 🤠🐴

Special thanks also to all our new and current members who came along, rode, helped out, encouraged others, and created such a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. It was great to see so many people giving reining a go, building confidence, and having fun along the way.

Days like these are what our club is all about learning, supporting each other, and growing together. We can’t wait for the next one! 🤎
