News for the day, doing the laps tonight 😁

Yep, at Borderline Speedway in Mount Gambier for my first run in a Wingless Sprint.

Not as many updates as I was planning, unfortunately.

Began first night’s racing on a wet track, maybe a bit wetter than I anticipated and totally missed the setup, struggled all race but managed to finish, more than can be said for the second race.

Changed the setup for the second race and managed to get it dialled in a lot better, for the first few laps at least. Was running second until we started losing power, which culminated in no power ( or compression for that matter) and shutting off the engine for the last half a lap to roll across the finish line.

Didn’t start our 3rd heat, and overall was a dismal night for us.

We (mostly Darren and Grant, thanks) pulled the head of this morning and found part of no.5 piston must have had other plans for the weekend, as it’s no longer where it should be, out for the remainder of the weekend.

Rebuild time…..

Practice done and dusted. Timed in 28th, however to be fair I wasn’t actually expecting to be that high up with the calibre of other cars and drivers here.

Had 2 runs, first one we had a brand new tyre delaminate, giving no forward drive.
The second run was much better and highlighted a couple of changes we need to make in the morning, in prep for racing tomorrow night.

Overall, happy with where it’s all at currently.

Waters Fastest at Home!

Jarod Waters got his campaign for a third successive SSA Modified Sedan National Title off to the best possible start as he set the fastest lap in tonight’s practice at his home track, B&S Earthworks Timmis Speedway Mildura.

Waters set the (then) fastest time in session eight of 16.589, then just as other cars began to close the gap on his best lap, he went out again in session twenty-one and clocked a 16.298.

This time was never challenged from here, though Brad Wicks did record a 16.624 in session nineteen to be second fastest and Jakobe Jetson a 16.746 in the same session to be third overall.

The top nine drivers were the only ones to break into the sixteen-second bracket, with the top thirty drivers separated by less than a second.

Seventy-one of the seventy-five drivers in the Title practiced across the thirty-two sessions held, with just Todd Rose, Trevor Logan, Steve Ellis and Angelo Halacas electing not to take part.

Racing will kick off tomorrow evening with three rounds of heats before a day's break, cars returning to the track on Sunday night for the final round of heats and the main events to decide the 2024/25 ENZED SSA Modified Sedan National Champion.

It’s started, SSA Modified Sedans national title at B&S Earthworks Timmis Speedway Mildura.

Going to be full weekend here with 80 cars nominated.

Had a run at Sunline Speedway in Waikerie over the weekend. Track was extra slick, which was not a total surprise for a nice sunny day meeting.

Back for night 2 at Timmis Speedway, Mildura.

Friday night was a learning curve for me and the car, fixing a few issues that needed fixing and trying get settled in the car.

Hoping tonight we may have fixed some of the issues and can progress a little more but no huge expectations just yet.

Wel, after 2 or 3 years of not racing, parking up the old BA and taking what seemed an eternity to build a new car, we are finally heading out to race at Mildura for the Murray Magic for modified sedans.

First goal for tonight, drive onto the track….
