🏆WEEKEND WRAP UP🏆
On Saturday our first XI hosted Molesworth where we won the toss and had a bat, with early wickets falling Daniel Cassidy showed once more he is willing to dig in for the team with a gritty 37. Sean McGuire looked settled at the crease before departing for a solid 32 but it was Paul Rogers who got his team to a respectable total with a smart and patient 71. Rogers hit 10 boundaries in a valuable innings once again. Sean McGuire keeps on delivering with the new ball with 2 early wickets once more, veteran Chris Short got himself a wicket with the new ball also. Molesworth looked to build a solid partnership before Nathan Maynard stemmed the flow with our 4th wicket. Josh Meredith took our 5th and 6th and is in good touch with the ball at the moment. The vistors went on to register a 4 wicket victory with a 102 run 5th wicket partnership being the game breaker.
7th Grade also hosted on Sunday up against Derwent with some overcast conditions we took to the bowling crease first Liam Maw continues to take wickets no matter what division with 2 poles inside 5 overs. Mathew Honey returned to the lineup and made his mark with 3 wickets in his 8 over spell with the new ball to have Derwent 5-13 at one stage. Derwent then consolidated well for a period of time before young leggie Cooper Daly took his first wicket for the club Cooper then went on to record 3 for the innings. With some late big hitting from Derwent Tyler Downham then finished off with 2 to his name from his 2 overs. Tyler then went massive with the bat opening up and smashing a 67 ball century with 17 boundaries being smacked in what was an entertaining innings congratulations Tyler. A few starts from the boys around Tyler but Kayden Cartledge made sure the win was ours walking out at number 7 smashing 28 off 10 with 3 maximums. That is win number 4 for the side and hopefully some momentum has been started for the back end of the season.
