full of straw,
offered like treasure
to a creature much bigger
than the world he knows.

No fear,
no hesitation —
just the quiet understanding
that kindness

The pony lowers its head,
meeting him halfway,
as if remembering
that gentleness
is a language
we’re all born speaking.

In a busy world
that teaches us to hurry,
