Small hands,
full of straw,
offered like treasure
to a creature much bigger
than the world he knows.

No fear,
no hesitation —
just the quiet understanding
that kindness
doesn’t need words.

The pony lowers its head,
meeting him halfway,
as if remembering
that gentleness
is a language
we’re all born speaking.

In a busy world
that teaches us to hurry,
to doubt,
to guard ourselves —
this moment pauses everything.

Because here,
between soft breath
and scattered hay,
is something simple
we all recognise:

The first time we trusted,
the first time we gave,
the first time we learned
that care
can be small…
and still mean everything. 🫶
