Fun for Family and Friends! The Oak Flats Sailing Club is one of the oldest sailing clubs on Lake Illawarra. We are geared up to accommodate for both kids and adults to learn to sail at our club with an instructor of whom, a former junior student has gone on to gain the position of bowman on five Sydney to Hobart Races, and invited to sail regattas in San Francisco and Italy: we have options for b

eginners to learn to sail Sunday Mornings, 9:30am - 12:30pm and racing thereafter. Life jackets and club boats are available. Join the crew at Oak Flats Sailing Club, Situated in beautiful parklands on the southern shores of Lake Illawarra.

Oak Flats Sailing Club will be closed for the Christmas/new year break.
First day of sailing in the new year will be Sunday 11th January 2026.

Another great sailing day today. Seven boats participating in the first training race of the season.
Lots of sailors gaining new skills, learning the rules and picking up tips from each other.
A few missing today but hopefully next week we can get even more boats on the water
