🌺 What a fantastic day for our SUDU paddlers at the Nowra Regatta last Saturday. Huge congratulations to Nowra Waterdragons for hosting such a well organised and enjoyable event 👏🏼 The feedback from everyone was the same, great racing, great atmosphere and plenty of fun all day long. 🤩

A special shout out to our SUDU women, Karen, who stroked her first regatta and Rhonda, Angela, Julie and Sharon, who all teamed up with Nature Coast Dragon Boat Club and Merimbula Water Dragons Inc to come away with a gold and a silver medal. Also well done to our men, Greg and Tony, who paddled with Mako Paddle Club and brought home 2 gold and a silver. Outstanding effort by all involved.🥇🥇🥇🥈🥈

Thanks again to the organisers, volunteers and supporters who made the day such a success. We’re already looking forward to the next one. 💚🫶🏻

What a gorgeous Mother’s Day morning on the water today 💚🛶

Perfect conditions, great energy and plenty of hard work mixed with plenty of laughs. It was especially nice to share the session with some of the wonderful mums in our SUDU family, Karen, Nicole, Melissa and Julie.

Dragon boating is more than just training and racing. It’s about community, friendship and the people who make our club what it is. Our paddling mums are a big part of that. Their support, encouragement and commitment help make SUDU such a special place to be. 🫶🏻

Wishing all the amazing mums, grandmothers and mother figures throughout our SUDU community a very happy Mother’s Day. We hope you all had a fantastic day with family and friends 💚

We’re very grateful for this support. Thank you Anna Watson MP - Member for Shellharbour and the NSW Office of Sport for helping us upgrade our gym and support our paddlers 👏🏼🐉🏋🏻‍♂️

I was very happy to attend SUDU Dragon Boat Club this morning to present a cheque for $3,500 to support the upgrade of their club gym. 🐉🚣‍♀️

This funding has been delivered through the NSW Office of Sport Local Sport Grant Program, which is all about strengthening grassroots sport and creating more opportunities for people to stay active across our community.

Upgrades like this help clubs like SUDU continue to grow by improving their facilities, supporting their members, and making their space more accessible and inclusive for people of all ages and abilities.

It’s fantastic to see this investment supporting such a passionate and dedicated local club. Congratulations to everyone at SUDU Dragon Boats, I look forward to seeing the positive impact this upgrade will have!

Today, SUDU honours and remembers all who gave their lives in service to our nation.

We also acknowledge the veterans and those who continue to serve, including members of our own paddling community.

Their sacrifice is not forgotten.

A fantastic day for the NSW Southern Region crews at AusChamps State Day.

🥇 Gold – Women’s and Men’s 1km Turns (Combined Times)
🥈 Silver – Mixed 500m
🥉 Bronze – Women’s 500m

SUDU was proudly represented by five members, Steve, Karen, Inez, Neil and Kerry. Neil swept, Inez drummed, everyone paddled, and Inez and Kerry also paddled with Invictus veterans. 🌺

For a small club we are very proud to have such strong representation at rep level. It only happens because of the members who turn up each week and put the work in together. 💪🏼💚

Representative paddling is a fantastic experience and we encourage anyone interested to have a go. The camaraderie within the NSW Southern Region team is something special, and along the way we’ve made lasting friendships. 🫶🏻💙

Well done to everyone who raced and represented NSW at AusChamps. And in case you’re wondering, NSW won State Day. Whooo hoooo!! 👏🏼 💪🏼💙

What a fantastic days racing! Our men’s Opens team brought home gold 🥇 while our women’s team were outstanding, paddling with only 16 in their boat, while their opposition had 20. What an inspiring performance! 👏🏼

Big congratulations to SUDU’s Neil Herbert and Nowra Waterdragons Lisa Gullick who were selected as DBNSW Southern Region men’s and women’s captains for the upcoming AusChamps on the Gold Coast next month.

SUDU Christmas paddle and after party done right. 🎄🐉 🛶

18 of us turned up in our best Christmas outfits. The dragon boat even got the festive treatment. We hit the water for a slalom course, tug-o-war, and races to collect the yellow ducks. 🦆🎅🏼🧑‍🎄

Halfway through, the weather gods played the Grinch and the wind kicked in. Tough conditions, but our sweeps held it together and got us home safely. Then it was straight to Ilona and Bruce’s place for the Christmas party.🥳

Great food. Plenty of drinks. Music, games, big laughs, and the best part, great teammates. Nights like this remind us how lucky we are to have such a strong club and such good people. 👏🏼

Congratulations to everyone involved! 👏

Nine SUDU members put themselves forward for selection in the NSW State Team Southern. That alone is a fantastic achievement for a small club and a clear sign of the quality of coaching, commitment, and hard work across our paddlers who stepped up to the challenge. 💪

Today, Dragon Boat NSW announced its representative teams. We are thrilled and very proud to share that five SUDU members have been selected to represent NSW State Team Southern 🫶

A big shout-out to Karen, Kerry, Inez, Steve and Neil. We have no doubt you will do both SUDU and NSW Southern proud when you race at the Australian Championships in Queensland next April. 👏👏👏👏👏

Now the hard work begins! 💪🛶🏋️‍♀️🏃🚴🚣‍♀️

SUDU also acknowledges the effort and teamwork of every club member who consistently turns up and puts in the effort. Without the commitment shown at training by the whole group, these results would not be possible. When our paddlers pull on the NSW racing shirt and cap, they proudly represent not only our great State of NSW, but also every member of SUDU Dragon Boat Racing Club. 💚💙
