What a day.

A huge thank you to every climber who competed, every volunteer who gave their time, our incredible setting team and guest setters, photographers, judges, MCs (yes we see you), and all of our sponsors who helped bring West Coast Blocs to life at Osborne Park.

The gym was packed with energy, sends, close battles, and an amazing community that showed up all day and night long.

Congratulations to all of our podium winners, and thanks to everyone who came along to climb, spectate, cheer, and be part of it.

We're still sifting through all of the media from the day - keep an eye out later this week for the full photo album.

Portside Youth Festival is back, and this year we’re heading to O’Connor!

Our biggest day of youth climbing returns on Saturday 24 October, bringing together climbers aged 8–17 for a full day of climbing, community and fun. We’re excited to welcome guest setters Amanda Miller and Tim Chin, who’ll be setting fresh boulders for festival day.

This year, we’ve split the event into two competition formats:

🦗Social Pumpfest (U11–U15)
Self-scored, no judges. A relaxed, social comp focused on participation, climbing with friends, prizes and podiums.

🏆 World Cup Format (U15–U19)
Timed and manually judged. Climb through a qualification round, with the top 6 in each category advancing to finals for a taste of World Cup-style competition.

U15 climbers can choose either format, depending on the type of competition experience they’d like.

Expect fresh climbs, great prizes, face painting, a bakesale, BBQ and more happening throughout the day.

West Coast Blocs begins tomorrow!

Osborne Park is reimagined for a one‑day, community‑fuelled showcase. Bringing in the strongest climbers from all categories, West Coast Blocs joins the climbing community together for a full day of world-class setting, great food, local and international partners and an unforgettable Open finals.

This year's competition features climbs by Trisha Tham, Jordan Grant, and of course – Portside’s own setting team. 

7:30am to 9:30am Opens Qualifiers (judged boulder jam)
10:30am to 5:00pm Novice/Intermediate pumpfest (three 2-hour sessions)
6:00pm Opens World Cup style finals (spectators welcome!)
8:30pm Podium presentations

Designed by local talent, this year's limited-edition West Coast Blocs tee is available on the day for $50.
