What a night at DFC!
Our country juggernaut stepped up once again against some of the biggest and best talent in South Australia.
After a year plagued by opponent withdrawals, young Trent “The Truck” Redden finally got his chance to shine and delivered in an absolute three-round war. In a razor-close contest, Trent narrowly fell short via split decision, but proved exactly why he’s one of the toughest prospects around.
Congratulations to Charlie, Steve, and the entire team at SACA. As always, they put forward a quality athlete and remain one of the best teams to test yourself against.
The good news is Trent pulled up well, with only a few minor niggles, and he’ll be back in the cage before long.
Brian “The Mauler” Muller then took centre stage against South Australian MMA legend Anthony Bynoe, competing for the Legacy Cup – a perpetual championship dedicated to the pioneers and legends who helped build South Australian MMA.
Brian delivered a career-defining performance. Everything came together exactly as planned. The wrestling, the cage defence, the pressure, and the vicious ground-and-pound were all on display as he executed the game plan to perfection, earning a unanimous decision victory.
A huge thank you to Anthony and the team at Trinity MMA for the opportunity. And congratulations to Anthony on an outstanding career spanning more than fifteen years. Your contribution to the sport in South Australia will not be forgotten.
Most importantly, this victory marks as our teams first professional MMA win.
We’re just getting started.
To all of our supporters, training partners, coaches, friends and family – thank you. We couldn’t do it without you. Your support means everything.
Onwards and upwards.
