On Friday, 28th August, three of our lady members travelled to Balaklava Golf Club to compete in the Mid North Championships.

Clubs represented on the day included Barossa, Burra, Kapunda, Highercombe, Balaklava, Clare, Sandy Creek and Blyth.

Fiona Hockings proudly represented our club as Champion in the Champion of Champions event, competing against the champions from each of the participating clubs, as well as taking part in the Silver Salver.

Trish Robertson competed in the Bronze Salver, while Wendy Schutz represented us in the C Grade Salver.

It was a magnificent day, with the Balaklava course presented in absolutely stunning condition.

A huge congratulations goes to Wendy, who came out on top in her division with a fantastic 35 points, winning on a countback against 10 other players. HOORAY, Wendy! We are so proud of you!

Unfortunately, Fiona and Trish weren’t quite able to follow Wendy’s winning form. Fiona put in a valiant effort, finishing with a gross score of 137 over 27 holes, while Trish continued working on the suntan she had started during her holiday in Hervey Bay the week before!

It is always a privilege to travel away and represent our club, and even better to return home with wonderful memories, plenty of stories to share—and, on this occasion, a trophy-winning performance to celebrate!
