An absolute gentleman and an honour to have known him- taught me a lot over my time through my involvement at Pine Central Holy Spirit RLFC..

Whether it was to fix that dislocated finger or thumb, strapping anything possible - perfect homemade old school remedies for just about anything.
Jimmy knew so much and always happy to share with us all. His kind gestures not to go unnoticed by even to giving a coach or manager of a team $50 to go buy the boys a ctn for after the game. Support in every single club fundraiser, support with purchase of senior team doubles or silver circle fundraiser. Jim and Lorna both were amazing advice givers to me in my role as Club President and Secretary - to have them attend Club Presentation Days was awesome every single year yet to for them turn around after each event and say thanks to me for inviting us and sharing laughs and a big hug every time.
My thoughts and prayers to you Lorna and your family as i am sending heartful tears of all the past 15yrs or so i have known the Johnston family to be able to say the greatest game of all always makes mates for life both on and off the field.

'I started playing at a young age, my first club was Bribie Island Rugby League Football Club - Warrigals where I played for 8 years and made the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay squad, playing in the state championships. I joined the Army straight out of High School serving at 8/9RAR where I made the rank of Corporal and served a deployment overseas in 2016. After 7 years of full-time service I transferred to reserves late last year. In the last 2 years I've recently started playing rugby league again after a 5 year break joining the Army. I was lucky enough to play in the Brisbane 1st grade grand final with Pine Central Holy Spirit RLFC last year.'

What does Brisbane Veterans RLFC mean to you❓
'Brisbane Vets gives the opportunity for both current and ex-service members with similar experiences to come together and play a sport with a common goal. We will be making history as an all serving sports team in a civilian competition and see a future where we will make our mark within the veteran community. Rugby League has been a passion of mine since I was little and for it to be combined with another huge part of my life is a great and rare opportunity. I look forward to kicking off the season!'

Training for Senior Men commences 6.30pm Tuesday the 7th of January. With the Pine Cup not far off it'll be awesome to see the brothers looking after some of that Christmas Spirit on the training paddock.

Our very own Keegan Blows and Mason Smith took part in a 9s game on Saturday in opposing teams with 8th/9th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment take on a new team for 2020 - Brisbane Veterans Rugby League Football Club
