The easy option gives the harder route🫠

In my time I have sustained many injuries, mostly to my ankles. Over this time I have let my injury stop all momentum I had moving forward in the right direction. Months following injuries I have put on a combined 130kg, that’s right 130kg!🙄

This year a shin injury stopped me from completing a marathon and left me putting back on 10kg I had just lost the month or two before 🫩

This latest ankle injury has given me a chance to redeem myself and beat the one challenge I have yet to overcome🙌

Injuries are such a mental battle and can make everything 2x as hard, but by letting them win and not doing the right things to recover and maintain progress you’ve already made, you are allowing it to 10x the difficulty of your path😡

My approach this time around is completely different, I have continued to lose weight. I haven’t spiralled and started eating terribly, I told myself I will control what I can control whilst I wait for my ankle back. I admitted to myself that this is a difficult situation for me and in doing so I identified my weakness and found a way to combat them. I’m still very early but this time I’m super confident I will beat the monster that has controlled me in the past🫡

I would love to hear everyone’s journey through injury and how they maintained or bounced back in the comments or DM, I look forward to hearing from you😊

DM ‘Rehab’ for advice and support getting through your injury.

5kg in 5 days — not fat loss, not a diet… just discipline.
And to be clear: don’t try this. Weight cuts are for competition only.

Here’s the real breakdown:

I started fight camp walking around 72–74kg at roughly 12–14% body fat.

The plan was to fight at 68kg, but when I was offered 66kg, I said yes — I just wanted to get in there.

Throughout camp I trained 2 sessions per day and occasionally 3 sessions while eating maintenance calories, but with high carbs, high protein and high fibre. High volume in training with medium intensity and high volume food.
That kept me fuelled, recovered, and performing well while staying within my calorie range. Because my training volume was high, my weight naturally dropped to 70.9kg, fluctuating between 71–73kg depending on the day.

For the actual weight cut, I went from 70.9kg → 65.2kg in 5 days.

Still on maintenance calories, with carbs lowered to 50g and most of my intake coming from fats and protein.
No sauna. No extreme sweating. No forced dehydration — just a smart water load and controlled nutrition.

And honestly, I felt great.
Usually the more weight you cut, the more it impacts your conditioning going into the fight —
but that wasn’t the case for me.
My conditioning held up fine.

What actually got me was losing my head in the first exchange and setting a pace I couldn’t maintain.
Not the cut — just inexperience and adrenaline.

And yeah… the whole 5kg in 5 days thing still feels low-key funny to look back on.

But let me say it again:
this is NOT fat loss and not something anyone should copy.
This is specific to combat sports and done with intention and structure.

If you like real breakdowns like this — training, nutrition, discipline, and the honest side of building momentum into 2026 —
let me know below and follow

On October 8th, 2025, I had my first Muay Thai fight — and I lost. But the lessons were worth more than a win. The imposter syndrome, the pressure, the commitment…It all pushed me harder than anything I’ve done. Camp gave me structure, improved my sleep, and showed me how much the right people matter.

Fighting isn’t a lone journey — the HTC coaches, senior boys, teammates, close friends and my partner carried me through it.

The loss did something I didn’t expect:

- it finally pulled me out of my head.

The day after the fight was the calmest I’ve felt in a long time.
And the 5kg weight cut in 5 days… I’ll break that down soon.

This whole process clarified who I am and the standards I want to carry into 2026.

If you want to build real momentum, structure and discipline in your own fitness journey, follow — this is where it starts. Love you all

Do the right thing for yourself this December 🤠

1. Don’t bleed a big night into bad decisions the next day, you can have fun the night before and still make positive decisions the next day that will make you feel better 💐

2. Don’t feel pressured to say yes, if you don’t want to have the extra bit of food or drink feel comfortable saying no if you don’t want it! It’s fine to eat a lot drink a lot at times but if you’re doing it when you don’t want to it’s a waste. True friends and family won’t make you go against your progress and wants 😮‍💨

3. No sugar options, a lot of great things have versions that taste just as good with a lot less calories or sugar in them. You can still have the amazing treat without the big punishment 😈

Look after yourself, stay safe and keep your progress!
