The easy option gives the harder route🫠
In my time I have sustained many injuries, mostly to my ankles. Over this time I have let my injury stop all momentum I had moving forward in the right direction. Months following injuries I have put on a combined 130kg, that’s right 130kg!🙄
This year a shin injury stopped me from completing a marathon and left me putting back on 10kg I had just lost the month or two before
This latest ankle injury has given me a chance to redeem myself and beat the one challenge I have yet to overcome🙌
Injuries are such a mental battle and can make everything 2x as hard, but by letting them win and not doing the right things to recover and maintain progress you’ve already made, you are allowing it to 10x the difficulty of your path😡
My approach this time around is completely different, I have continued to lose weight. I haven’t spiralled and started eating terribly, I told myself I will control what I can control whilst I wait for my ankle back. I admitted to myself that this is a difficult situation for me and in doing so I identified my weakness and found a way to combat them. I’m still very early but this time I’m super confident I will beat the monster that has controlled me in the past🫡
I would love to hear everyone’s journey through injury and how they maintained or bounced back in the comments or DM, I look forward to hearing from you😊
