Some days the brave thing isn't the jump.
It's loading and unloading on your own, walking into a big showground in a different country with no one beside you, and backing yourself anyway.
Right now I need to take a moment with myself and remember my why.
The horse. The journey. The dream. The quiet promise I made to myself a long time ago.

Behind every successful, happy horse is a team of people quietly helping them feel, move and perform at their best.

Marina has been part of Asti's journey since he was a freshly broken-in four-year-old. Through all the growth spurts, strength changes, competition preparation and everything in between, she's been there.

Having an experienced and knowledgeable massage therapist isn't a luxury - it's an important part of keeping a horse comfortable, happy and performing to the best of their ability. They often pick up the little changes before they become bigger issues and help us understand what our horses are feeling long before they can tell us themselves.

As riders, we ask so much of our horses. We ask them to carry us, trust us, learn, improve and perform. Looking after their bodies is one of the ways we can give something back.

I don't often endorse products.

In fact, I'm usually pretty skeptical of anything that promises the world and delivers very little.

There’s something pretty special about a horse that keeps saying "yes."

Asti just took me clear around a 1.25m jump-off. Not because it was perfect, and not because we’ve got it all figured out, but because once again he showed up with the biggest heart and gave me everything he had.

For a horse that’s still learning, still developing, and still growing into himself, his bravery never ceases to amaze me.
Every round teaches us something. Every course builds trust.
Every jump strengthens the partnership.
I often say protect the brave, and Asti reminds me why.
Proud of this horse.
Proud of our journey.

So let's stir the pot a little...

Would you rather buy a ready-made horse or start with a freshly broken-in green bean?

A ready-made horse comes with all the buttons. You can focus on riding, competing, gaining experience and achieving goals sooner.
They build confidence, teach feel and forgive our mistakes.

The downside? Someone else did the hard yards.

A green horse is a completely different journey as you get the firsts.

The first balanced canter.
The first competition.
The first clear round.
The first time they truly understand their job “hold my beer ma, I got this”

The downside?
There will be mistakes.
There will be setbacks.
There will be moments where you question your life choices and ability.

However - there is something incredibly rewarding about looking through your videos and photos that your husband took - week and week and realise you helped create this amazing animal.

Neither path is right or wrong.

One is buying the finished book.

The other is writing the story.

Which would you choose - the ready-made horse or the green project?

In my last post, I talked about "What if?"
What if the dream is possible?
What if we're capable of more than we think?
What if we just keep showing up?
Tonight was another reminder.
Asti and I giving “1% better every time” under the lights.
No crowd.
No ribbons.
No applause.
Just another training session in the dark, chasing a dream that often feels bigger than us both.
Because the truth is, the big moments aren't built on competition day.
They're built here.
Under lights. One jump at a time. One ride at a time. One "what if" at a time.

What if?

What if I stopped worrying about what people were saying behind my back, whether I was good enough, talented enough, brave enough or ready enough?

What if I simply keep showing up.

What if I trained a little harder.
Worked a little harder.
Stayed a little longer.
Tried a little more.

What if I succeed?

What if all those early mornings, lessons, mistakes, setbacks and sacrifices actually lead somewhere?

What if my horse learns.
What if I improve.
What if our partnership grows.
What if the impossible slowly becomes possible.

The truth is, none of us know where the ceiling is until we push against it.

The riders I admire.
The athletes I respect.
The people doing extraordinary things.

At some point they simply decided to have a go.

Not because success was guaranteed.

Because they couldn't live with wondering what might have happened if they'd never tried.

So here's a question.

What if we gave it everything we had?

Because what if... we actually did it?
