Running is a repetitive, single-leg sport so it makes sense that unilateral (single-sided) strength work should be part of your training.
Exercises like split squats, single-leg RDLs, step-ups and single-leg calf raises can help build strength, stability and control on each side individually.
Why does that matter? 👇
🔹 Identify and work on side-to-side differences
🔹 Improve balance and stability
🔹 Build strength through positions that are more specific to running
🔹 Strengthen muscles that help support efficient movement
🔹 Add variety to your strength training
You don’t need a complicated program. A few well-chosen unilateral exercises, performed consistently, can make a big difference.
