SRM Unboxing - 2006 style 😀

This classic SRM powermeter just came in for a service and battery replacement. Now 17 years old, it was made in 2006 and is still running like new. It came to us in it's original box, so clearly the customer takes super care of it. I wonder how many kms it has ridden and mountains it has climbed over all these years - sure to be some great stories there.

BMX x SRM Oceania. Read below!

We believed a power meter for BMX racing could be useful. We are fans of the sport. We can see the strength and speed from these athletes. We begun working with Georgia Potter and quickly realised the potential in having this data available. During a session working on her ‘Gates’ she produced a max of 1350w and a 5 sec avg of 1280w. 6 gate starts all hitting above 1280w. On the 7th a max of 1170 was recorded. Having this knowledge and seeing the data instantly after a lap she can adjust her effort accordingly. Is she tired? Is she on a good day? Does it correlate with her current training load? Without this information the athlete is in the dark. In a sport won by mili seconds, these marginal gains are crucial. It’s Quality. Not quantity!

Know when your training is working. Know when to stop the gates and work on your manuals!
