One of the biggest myths in fitness is that you need to be fit before you join a gym.

Hugh is living proof that you don't.

When he joined FIIT Project last year at 69 years old, he had no previous gym experience and admits he was a little apprehensive about getting started.

That's completely normal.

In fact, it's exactly how many people feel before their first session.

What matters isn't where you start. It's finding coaches who can meet you where you're at and help you progress safely and confidently.

Fast forward to today and Hugh is doing things he never imagined he'd be doing when he first walked through our doors.

The goal has never been to make everyone train the same way.

The goal is to help each person become a fitter, stronger, healthier version of themselves.

Thanks for the kind words, Hugh, and for showing others that it's never too late to get started. πŸ’™

If you've been putting off joining a gym because you think you're too old, too unfit, or don't know where to begin, send us a message.

πŸŽ‰ 200 Classes for Johanna! πŸŽ‰

Just 14 months ago, Johanna walked through our doors after a recommendation from her friend Stacey.

The advice was simple:

"You need to try my gym. It has the vibes you're after. Friendly people. Great coaches that care about you. No need to compete every session."

At the time, Johanna was dealing with a few injuries, particularly knee pain that was affecting everyday training.

Jumping hurt.

Lunging hurt.

Squatting hurt.

And like many people dealing with ongoing pain, there was always that uncertainty of wondering when it would flare up next or whether she'd be paying for today's workout tomorrow.

Fast forward 200 classes and the transformation has been incredible.

Johanna is now jumping, lunging, squatting, and training with confidence again.

No worrying about when the pain will return.

No wondering whether she'll be able to walk the next day.

Along the way she's hit squat PBs, competed in CrossFit competitions, and most importantly, found her love for training again.

That's what we're really celebrating today.

Not just 200 check-ins.

200 opportunities to build strength, confidence, resilience, and a lifestyle she enjoys.

Congratulations Johanna! We're so proud of everything you've achieved and grateful to have you as part of the FIIT Project community. πŸ’™

πŸŽ‰ Milestone Thursday πŸŽ‰

200 classes for Alex.
300 classes for David.

These milestones represent much more than just attendance.

A little over two years ago, Alex and David decided it was time to get back into a routine after taking some time away from the gym while starting a family.

Like many busy professionals and parents, life had become focused on everyone else.

Work.

Kids.

Family responsibilities.

Eventually they realised that looking after themselves wasn't selfishβ€”it was necessary.

Since then they've consistently attended group classes, alongside regular Personal Training sessions, making their health and fitness a priority again.

What we love most is how they view their time in the gym.

It's their time.

A chance to switch off from work, focus on themselves, challenge themselves physically, and do something they genuinely enjoy.

Because they know they're better doctors, better parents, and better humans when they train regularly.

You'll often find them in the same class, spending time together while doing something that benefits both of them.

Congratulations Alex and David. Thank you for being such valued members of the FIIT Project community. πŸ’™

You're exercising.

You're trying to eat better.

You're making healthier choices than you used to.

So why isn't the weight coming off?

One thing I see all the time is people trying to solve a stress problem with a nutrition solution.

They cut calories.

Start another diet.

Add extra workouts.

Then get frustrated when nothing changes.

The truth is that stress affects much more than how you feel. It can affect your sleep, recovery, cravings, energy levels, and even where your body stores fat.

If you've ever felt like you're doing everything right but not seeing the results you expected, this week's blog is worth a read.

One of my favourite takeaways is something called a brain dump.

Before bed, set a timer for 5-7 minutes and write down everything that's on your mind.

No editing.

No judging.

Just get it out of your head and onto paper.

Sometimes the simplest habits can make the biggest difference.

If motivation was the secret to fitness success, everyone would be fit in January.

The reality?

Motivation comes and goes.

Work gets busy.
The kids get sick.
You get stressed.
Life happens.

After coaching hundreds of people over the years, I've found that the people who achieve the best long-term results aren't the most motivated.

They're the most consistent.

They've built habits.

They've created routines.

They have accountability.

They surround themselves with people who support them.

One of our members recently said that training helps him be calmer and more patient throughout the day.

Another said she feels like a better mum when she's exercising regularly because her whole family benefits.

That's what fitness is really about.

Not six-packs.
Not perfection.
Not feeling motivated every day.

It's about becoming a better version of yourself and building a routine that supports the life you want to live.

Swipe through to learn what actually helps people stay consistent with exercise.

If you've been thinking about getting started, we'd love to help.

πŸŽ‰ Milestone Thursday πŸŽ‰

200 classes for Aaron.
600 classes for Tony.
800 classes for Keng.

Three very different journeys, but all built on the same thing: consistency.

When Aaron first joined FIIT Project 18 months ago, he'd never done group classes before. Like many people, he'd spent years doing the traditional gym routine. Bench press one day, back and biceps another day, and let's just say leg day wasn't always a priority. πŸ˜…

At the time, he'd stopped playing footy because of a knee injury and wasn't sure if he'd ever run properly again.

Fast forward to today and he's earned the nickname "Gazelle" thanks to how smooth and effortless his running looks. Through targeted rehab work, building strength, and consistently showing up, Aaron has now completed multiple half marathons.

Tony and Keng's stories look different.

They aren't in the gym six days a week.

They don't try to be fitness heroes.

What they do exceptionally well is show up consistently, year after year.

They understand that training isn't just about building muscle or improving fitness. It's about looking after their physical health, clearing their head, managing stress, and feeling better in everyday life.

That's what these milestones represent.

Not perfect attendance.

Not perfection.

Just hundreds of days where they chose to invest in themselves.

Congratulations Aaron, Tony, and Keng. Thank you for being such an important part of the FIIT Project community. πŸ’™

Here's to the next milestones.

11/06/2026

When people ask what makes the biggest difference to their results, it's rarely a new workout or a fancy training program.

It's consistency.

And consistency is much easier when you enjoy the people you're training with, trust your coaches, and feel supported every time you walk through the door.

That's exactly what Jules highlighted in her review.

"Stronger. Fitter. More confident. The coaches, community and variety have kept me consistent and hitting new goals."

Watching Jules train now, it's hard to believe there was a time when injury had knocked her confidence and motivation around.

Since joining FIIT Project, she's continued to build strength, improve her fitness, and prove to herself what she's capable of.

Thanks for being such a valued member of the community, Jules. We're proud of everything you've achieved and look forward to seeing what goals you tackle next. πŸ’™

Most people think they need more motivation.

But after coaching hundreds of people over the years, I've found that motivation isn't usually the problem.

The members who achieve the best long-term results aren't necessarily the most motivated. They're the ones who have built habits, routines, accountability, and support around their training.

In our latest blog, I talk about:

βœ… Why motivation comes and goes
βœ… What consistent people do differently
βœ… Why accountability changes everything
βœ… How community helps people stay on track
βœ… Practical ways to make exercise a habit

If you've ever found yourself starting and stopping your fitness journey, this one's for you.

One of the biggest misconceptions about joining a gym is that people are worried about the workouts.

Most aren't.

What I hear all the time is:

❓ "Will I know what I'm doing?"
❓ "Will everyone be fitter than me?"
❓ "Do I need to get fit before I start?"
❓ "What actually happens after I enquire?"

Those questions are completely normal.

In fact, one of our members, Dan, walked past FIIT Project around 20 times before finally making an enquiry. Not because he didn't want to get fitter, but because he wasn't sure what to expect.

That's why we've built a process designed to help people feel comfortable and confident from day one.

It starts with a No Sweat Intro, followed by a personalised plan that may include Foundations sessions, Personal Training, Nutrition Coaching, or Group Classes.

No guessing.

No being thrown in the deep end.

Just a clear path forward.

Swipe through the carousel to see what the journey looks like.

If you'd like more detail, I've written a blog explaining exactly what happens after joining FIIT Project and sharing some real member stories along the way.

"CrossFit style, but for EVERYONE."

That's one of the biggest misconceptions we hear.

People often assume they need to be fit before they start, or that group training isn't for them because they have injuries, haven't exercised in years, or simply don't know where to begin.

Dave has been a member for 11 years and has seen hundreds of people walk through our doors.

His experience?

The workouts are adjusted to suit the individual. No experience required. No ego. Just good coaching, great people, and a program designed to help you become fitter, stronger, and healthier over time.

At 41 years old, Dave says he continues to get fitter and healthier every year.

That's what we're really aiming for.

Not a quick fix.

Not six weeks of suffering.

A sustainable approach that helps you keep improving for years to come.

Thanks for the kind words, Dave, and for being such a valued part of the FIIT Project community for the past 11 years. πŸ’™
