A significant show of support for Move To Strike ahead of his second season at Lovatsville.

Seymour Park and partners have secured a package of quality mares from Waikato Stud, all currently in foal to exciting young sire Super Seth, with the mares earmarked to visit Move To Strike this breeding season.

The group includes proven and well-related mares such as Group 2 winner Acting, Ounce — a half-sister to Group 1 winner and NZ Champion 2YO La Dorada — and Thee Affair, a half-sister to Group 3 winner Kilman.

The investment reflects the ownership group’s continued belief in Move To Strike following an encouraging first season at stud, in which he covered 143 mares.

As Lovatsville Stallion Manager Padraig O’Sullivan explained:

“Move To Strike is an exciting prospect for us and these mares will suit him down to the ground.”

The first foals by Move To Strike are already arriving, with plenty more to look forward to as the 2026 breeding season approaches.

What a journey it has been for Bellatrix Star 💫

Bred and raised at Seymour Park, the daughter of Star Witness went from an exciting juvenile in New Zealand to a Group 1 performer in Australia, racing for TE AKAU RACING 🍊 after being purchased by Sir David Ellis on behalf of Fortuna Racing. She won at Group 2 and Group 3 level before finishing runner-up in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington.

Her toughness was just as impressive as her talent. After overcoming a fractured vertebra in her neck and later undergoing surgery for a fetlock injury, Bellatrix returned to the races and produced another Group placing before a second episode of heart fibrillation brought her racing career to a close.

She retires with five wins from 13 starts and more than $1 million in earnings — a wonderful record for a mare who has been on quite the journey.

And there’s a lovely connection to the next chapter: Bellatrix Star’s dam, Alana’s Party, is currently in foal to Move To Strike at Lovatsville.

We wish Bellatrix Star all the very best as she begins her next chapter as a broodmare.

As we head towards the breeding season, we wanted to share a few beautiful moments from last Sunday’s Lovatsville Stallion Parade, captured by Amaryllis.

The roster looked fantastic, the weather was kind, and it was a pleasure to welcome so many breeders, owners, trainers and industry friends to the farm.

We caught up with Ben Gleeson, Assistant Trainer at TE AKAU RACING 🍊, during the Lovatsville Stallion Parade to talk about Move To Strike — a horse the Te Akau team know extremely well.

Purchased by David Ellis CNZM and raced by the Te Akau 2023 Stallion Breeding Syndicate, Move To Strike announced himself as an exceptional juvenile when winning the Group 1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes at Trentham.

Now standing at Lovatsville, the Group 1-winning son of I Am Invincible brings speed, quality and a proven two-year-old profile to Victorian breeders.

The 2026 Lovatsville Stallion Parades were a great success 👏

Thank you to everyone who joined us across Thursday and Sunday. We were delighted to welcome such a strong turnout of breeders, owners, trainers and industry friends to the farm.

The Lovatsville roster presented beautifully, with Espionage, Move To Strike, Royal Meeting, Fierce Impact, Generation and Gold Trip all making a fantastic impression.

We’re extremely grateful for the feedback we received across both parades, and for everyone who helped make the days such a success — from the team behind the scenes to those who prepared the horses, food, hospitality and grounds.

The first foal by Move To Strike has arrived 😍

A beautiful filly out of Hot Press, born last week at Bell River Thoroughbreds.
