Last night ten tasters tested two wines. It was a blind tasting...the description of each wine (this week Penfolds and Voyager) is provided prior to tasting but no one knows which wine is tasted first and second. Can we taste the flavours expressed in the description...can we tell which wine is which, which wine is better based on body, aroma, taste and finish and how many points should we give each wine. All this gives rise to a lot of discussion. Do we get it right...no...it is really difficult. But it is fun.
This week Max got the majority nod of approval.
Next week we have Moss Wood Amy's 2024 Cab Sav blend pitted against Jacob's Creek 2022 Double Barrel Shiraz Cabernet. Barossa V Margaret River...wow...rumour has it that Amy's is a great wine...but we will see. 😀
