I've spent a lot of time thinking peace would arrive after something.

After the decision.

After the answer.

After the money.

After the difficult thing was resolved.

After I knew what was happening next.

But lately I've been practising something very different.

What if peace isn't the reward at the end of the journey?

What if it's the place I learn to LIVE from?

Not because everything around me is peaceful.

Because somewhere within my life, peace is already present.

Sometimes it's my breath.

Sometimes it's my cup of tea.

Sometimes it's ten quiet minutes before the day begins.

Sometimes it's walking outside and feeling my feet on the earth.

And sometimes it's simply recognising:

I don't actually need to solve this right now.

That one is a bloody revelation. 😂

So here's a little practice I've been returning to:

What is already peaceful in my life right now?

Not what should be peaceful.

Not what needs to change before you can relax.

What's peaceful now?

Find one thing.

Stay there for a moment.

Let yourself actually receive it.

Because perhaps peace doesn't always need to be created.

Sometimes it simply needs to be noticed. ❤️

Yesterday I packed my car with yoga mats, bolsters, blocks, blankets and my Koshi chimes and drove to Toodyay to facilitate a private yoga and relaxation session for a karate camp of teenage girls and their mums. ❤️

Before the session, their organiser had shared with me that the girls had been experiencing some challenges around kindness towards one another.

We had a wonderful time together, exploring movement, our breath and a relaxing yoga nidra with koshi chimes.

I loved sharing the importance of kindness and mindfulness in our actions towards ourselves and each other. These beautiful young ladies gave me their full attention and I am hopeful that I planted some seeds of kindness for them to carry forward.

Today I walked away from 36 years and 8 months with the same employer. I literally started there when I was on P plates!!
I am extremely proud of my team, my many achievements, progression. But in this moment, I am so proud of walking away from something that simply no longer aligned with me, my values, my purpose. Thank you for supporting me through many phases of my life. I'll take it from here.

Spring has arrived in my garden. 🌸

I've been slowing down enough to really notice the extraordinary little scientific wonders appearing everywhere.

The colours.
The shapes.
The detail.
The way everything seems to know when it's time to grow, rest, change and bloom.
And then I remember...

We are nature too.
We grow.
We change.
We move through seasons.

Perhaps spending time in nature feels so restorative because, in some way, we're simply returning to ourselves.

Today I'm remembering that I too am an extraordinary part of nature — growing, changing and navigating the seasons of my own life.

And so are you. ❤️🌸

What if we didn't wait until the end of our lives to rest in peace?

For years, I have walked through the cemetery next door to my home.

We often joke that our neighbours are very quiet. 😂

But I genuinely love walking there.

I read the names on the headstones.
I notice the dates.
I see the flowers people have left and the people who still come to visit.

And sometimes I wonder about the lives behind those names.

Were they at peace with themselves?

Did they spend their lives trying to get somewhere before they allowed themselves to exhale?

Were there things they carried for years that they might have been so close to putting down?

Did they know peace while they were living?

This morning, standing in my meditation room, I looked at something I'd written on my whiteboard:

What if peace isn't the reward at the end of the journey?
It's the place we learn to walk from.

And one word suddenly felt wrong.

Walk.

So I changed it.

What if peace isn't the reward at the end of the journey?
It's the place we learn to LIVE from.

Holy s**t.

Because I don't want to wait until the end of my life to rest in peace.

I want to live from peace while I'm here.

That doesn't mean my life will always be peaceful.

There will be uncertainty. Grief. Change. Other humans doing weird human s**t. 😂

There will be days when my mind races ahead of me and tries to solve things that haven't even happened yet.

But perhaps peace isn't something I lose when that happens.

Perhaps it's somewhere I can return to.

My breath.

My morning tea.

My journal.

A walk.

My body.

The ordinary things already supporting me.

The moment I notice I'm gripping something and ask:

What would it take for peace to be here right now?

And maybe even more importantly:

What is already peaceful?

Because when I notice what is already peaceful, something changes.

I stop waiting for the whole ocean to become still before I allow myself to be okay.

I find the lighthouse.

And I orient myself again.

❤️

Peace isn't somewhere I arrive.
Peace is somewhere I return.

Again and again.

And perhaps that's enough for a lifetime.

I have three spaces available for one-on-one sessions in September. 🤍

Life gets busy. Our heads get busy. And it can be surprisingly hard to find the space to actually hear ourselves.

That’s really what these sessions are about.

Space to talk.
Space to breathe.
Space to hear yourself again.
Space to work out what comes next.

My one-on-one sessions are private, personalised sessions designed around you — what’s happening in your life right now, what you might be navigating, and where you’d like to go from here.

They can be held in the comfort of your own home, or online.

And the comment I hear most often afterwards?

“Everyone should be doing this.” ❤️

I have three spaces available during September.

If one feels like it might be yours, send me a message and we can have a chat. x

Something new has been quietly taking shape at Cornerstone… 🧼🌿

And I'm just a little bit excited to finally share it.

Over the past few months I've been playing, experimenting and creating beautiful handmade soaps in small batches here at home in York — and somewhere along the way, Cornerstone Creations was born.

What started as something I simply loved doing has grown into a gorgeous little collection of soaps, botanical scrubs, loofah soaps and handmade gift packs.

And of course, being Cornerstone, they're about more than just soap.

I love the idea that something as ordinary as having a shower can become a tiny moment to slow down — to breathe in a beautiful aroma, feel the water on your skin, come back into your body and simply be here.

A little return to yourself.

I'm very excited (and perhaps a tiny bit nervous! 😄) to be taking Cornerstone Creations to its very first market next Saturday.

For now, I just wanted to share this little labour of love. I'm pretty proud of how it's all come together. 💜
