Wonni 4's is just 10 DAYS away!!

We will be welcoming players from all over Victoria, and this year we’re especially excited to have players travelling from South Australia and Tasmania to join us for the weekend!

We’re also really looking forward to having multiple junior divisions this year, giving even more young players the chance to get involved, play some great hockey, and enjoy the Wonni 4’s experience.

Underwater Hockey is fast, fun, a little bit different and a great way to get active and meet a good bunch of people.

Never played before? Even better! Come along and give it a go. Your first session is FREE and we’ll provide the equipment.

COME & TRY UNDERWATER HOCKEY THIS WEEK! 🤿🏒

Have you ever wondered what underwater hockey is all about? This is your chance to find out!

Forget the idea of a tiny niche sport… Wonthaggi Underwater Hockey Club is one of the biggest and most active underwater hockey clubs in Victoria. In fact, several of our own club members are currently representing Australia in Turkey at the CMAS World Championships. 🌏🇦🇺

Whether you’re 8 or 80, a strong swimmer or just keen to try something completely different, we’d love to welcome you. Underwater hockey is fast, exciting, surprisingly addictive and backed by an incredibly supportive community. Once people give it a go, they usually can’t wait to get back in the pool!

🇦🇺 🌏 Wonthaggi to the Worlds! 🌏 🇦🇺

After a few days of warm-up games and settling in, the teams are finally getting some well-earned rest, because tomorrow, the real competition begins!

A huge shout-out to Ben Robinson, another Wonthaggi player proudly representing Australia on the world stage in the U24 Men's team. Ben has represented Australia before, and we're sure this won't be the last time we see him wearing green and gold!

The entire Wonthaggi Underwater Hockey community is behind you. Best of luck, we can't wait to watch your games live! 💚💛

Game on! 🏒💦🤿

Term 3 of Underwater Hockey is here and we can’t wait to see all our returning players back on the bottom of the pool, chasing the puck and getting stuck into another great term. It’s time to dust off the fins, grab your stick and get back into it!

We’re also so excited to be cheering on some of our own club members who are already in Turkey and getting ready to compete at the CMAS Underwater Hockey World Championships. If you’d like to follow along, all the action will be live streamed.

And for anyone in the local community who has ever wondered what Underwater Hockey is all about, our Come & Try Night is next Thursday, 23rd July. Pop it in your diary, come along, see how the game works and give it a go. No experience is needed and we’ve got all the gear ready to go, just bring your swimmers!

🇦🇺🌏 Wonthaggi to Worlds! 🌏🇦🇺

We're so proud to have two Wonthaggi Underwater Hockey players heading to Turkey this week to represent Australia. Here is a bit more information about two of our player representing the U19 Australian team.

Devlin Rowe - #1
Devlin learnt to play at Wonthaggi and has been one of our most consistent players since joining three years ago. He loves that Wonthaggi Underwater Hockey is a great place for players of all abilities to develop. The best advice he's been given is to priorities position, then possession! His advice for our up-and-coming players is that hockey is a team sport, the better you get to know your teammates, the better you will all perform.

Lachie Riseley - #7
Lachie has been playing with Wonthaggi Underwater Hockey for the past 1.5 years, bringing previous experience from New Zealand. His favourite thing about playing at Wonthaggi is the incredible community. The best advice he's received is to make sure he's always have fun and his advice for our up-and-coming players is to learn the basics first and build your game from there.

We couldn't be more excited to see these two represent Australia on the world stage. Best of luck, Devlin and Lachie—we'll be cheering you on every step of the way! 💚💛
