Being sincere about your body as a dancer....this is a HUGE component of how you move, protect and project your body as a dancer. As a dancer, we often find ourselves wanting to please a teacher, an audience member, a parent..but how much of you do you keep for you. The most beautiful dancers are the ones that live to dance first and foremost for themselves, these are the dancers that when you watch in class they have an aura about them....These are the dancers that have stayed true to themselves and respected what they hold in dance is a privilege. A simple port de bras is a narrative in itself...your arm movement from a first to 5th is literally telling how the beautiful artform came to be from the french courts in the 17th century. If you hold your work with that much narrative, the weight of what you do everyday becomes an exploration but every moment you will treasure more...this is what makes the difference between amaetur, student and professional...professionals carry the weight of history everytime they go on that stage, and everytime its an honour ###
