Justfootball Academy Ryde Our main football focus is on developing a player's game intelligence, and their technical skills in the context of the game.

We believe a technical player is someone that is an intelligent decision maker, encompassing awareness and execution. We believe a complete footballer is socially competent, well disciplined and respectful, that they are an overall good person as well as a skilful player. The most important skill a child can develop is self-efficacy, the ability to motivate oneself. We believe that the right cultu

re and support, helps the children learn to take responsibility. At the academy we make allowances for children to have more autonomy and learn problem solving, rather than providing all the answers for them. Our aim is to take you to the next level in every aspect, we are not only a football school but also a school of life. We provide the perfect environment for learning to each individual player through our small groups, settings, session design and culture. It is well documented that players achieve maximum learning in the 4v4 setting and these numbers correctly replicate any given moment in any game. Not only does this guarantee maximum touches on the ball, but also means that players are always involved in every single moment of all games, on and off the ball. The small group model also assures closer attention from the coach and allows for more attention to detail in the player’s learning. More possession means more learning opportunities, and more enjoyment. We provide an organic learning environment for our children, and an education that is age specific. We also work with the players at their respective levels. Fun first, learning second, is the mantra to our programs, if the child does not enjoy their training then their learning is hampered. We are urgently trying to arrest the ominous dropout rate of children in sport, which currently is 70% by the age of 11. The advanced players in our program receive the highest level of coaching from our qualified coaches. The small group model creates a strongly focused environment, and our program consists of components that are still individual focused. Our goal is to develop better footballers in this country, not better teams, “Shaping better players for the future”. Results aren’t our aim, individual improvement is.

"⚽🚀 Torpedo 🚀⚽

Our U11 PAS 1 team working through Torpedo, a 3v2 version that transitions into a 4v3, creating a dynamic and game-real environment for players to learn and develop.

This game aligns perfectly with our relational model of development, encouraging players to build on-field relationships through combination play and collaborative problem solving. As the game unfolds, players are constantly required to read situations, support teammates, and make quick decisions under pressure.
The transitional nature of the game increases the intensity, while still preserving opportunities for the 1v1 actions that remain such an important part of the foundation phase of development.

Throughout the session, the coach introduces concepts such as overlaps, underlaps, give-and-go's, and one-two player combinations, helping players discover how these relationships can be used to create and exploit space.

We are incredibly proud and grateful to announce that Justfootball Academy has once again been named a Finalist in the Local Business Awards.

This recognition means a great deal to us, particularly as we cross our 10th year in operation. Over the past decade, our mission has remained unchanged: to provide children with a safe, caring, and inspiring environment where they can develop a love for football, express themselves freely, and grow as people.

Spring Loaded is a fantastic game packed with learning opportunities. Through game-real challenges, players are encouraged to think, adapt, and solve problems in an environment that closely mirrors the demands of football.

In this game, players learn to transition quickly from one moment to the next, maintaining control of the ball while under pressure and making decisions at speed. When possession is lost, they must react immediately, recover defensively, protect the goal, and apply pressure to the attacker.

Some great work from our Little Ballers group in our 2v1 Lock Picker game.

This game is designed to develop combination play between teammates, helping players understand how to work together in overload situations and the moments of broken play that occur so often in football.

The players learn how to support each other, create passing options, draw defenders, and recognise the right moments to pass, dribble, or attack space.

⚽👑 King of the Ring with Coach Jayden 👑⚽

Our little ballers having some fun with Coach Jayden in a game of King of the Ring.

A great example of how we develop dribbling through context and game-like situations. The players must constantly determine where the danger is, scan their surroundings, and decide when to use small touches or bigger touches depending on the pressure around them.

While the kids are having fun, they are also naturally developing ball control, dribbling, change of direction, and awareness — all within a practical football setting.
