Rest is often misunderstood as time off, but it isn’t downtime — it’s part of the work.
Between sets and exercises, your body is doing important work: restoring energy, resetting the nervous system, and supporting coordination so your next effort is effective and intentional.
Different training uses rest differently: strength work often needs longer recovery, while endurance and movement-based training uses shorter, active rest. In Pilates, rest is brief and intentional — built around breath, alignment, and control.
Used well, rest doesn’t slow training down — it elevates it.
