Perth Academy of Highland Dance Scottish Highland Dancing classes located in North Perth, Jolimont and Northam, WA. It involves intricate footwork and requires strength, stamina, and agility.

Scottish Highland Dance is a traditional, competitive style of solo dance originating from Scottish Highlands in the 19th century. It is a recognised Sport in Scotland where competitions take place worldwide including the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, South Africa and Australia. Perth Academy of Highland Dance classes are taught by an experienced and passionate highland dancer who has performed and competed in the sport for over 20 years in Australia and overseas and has been a member of the renowned OzScot Australia and Edinburgh Military Tattoo dance teams. Dancers at the Perth Academy of Highland Dance are provided with opportunities to compete locally and across Australia as well as opportunities to perform across WA at multi-cultural events celebrating the unique style, culture and precision of Scottish Highland Dance. Lessons focus on creating a balance between technical work, choreography, fitness, fostering discipline and resilience as well as having fun in a supportive and nurturing environment. Group and private classes are held in North Perth and Mount Hawthorn as well as in Northam. Perth Academy of Highland Dance welcomes and encourages dancers from ages 4 years to adult and is open to all new enquiries.

An extra special Saturday class this morning, and my last Saturday class for a little while! ✨️

It was wonderful to have such a full class and to celebrate some very exciting opportunities ahead for our dancers.

A special moment shared with Lucia and Grace, who have been selected for the OzScot JDS Singapore Trip! 🇸🇬 They performed their challenging choreography to the class this morning and showed just how hard they have been working in preparation for their upcoming adventure.

We also wish Lily Parker all the very best as she prepares to travel with OzScot Australia in just a few weeks to perform at the Düsseldorf Tattoo in Germany! 🇩🇪

What wonderful achievements and incredible opportunities for our dancers outside of the competition stage.
