🏖 FAQ: Is there shade on Whitehaven Beach?

No, Whitehaven Beach is a stunning 7km stretch of pure silica sand, completely open to the tropical skies above.

There is no natural shade available on the beach. The tree line and surrounding areas are part of a protected National Park and are strictly out of bounds to help preserve this beautiful environment.

👉We recommend bringing a small, portable shade option like a Cool Cabana or similar pop-up shelter to keep comfortable while enjoying your day.

Please remember to respect the environment and only set up on the sand.

🪼 Monday – arrive 5.15pm for dry land mobility/stretch.
5.30pm start with Coach Millie ($5 non-members). Three lanes catering for different swim abilities.

📚 Wednesday 5.30pm. A relaxed but structured session you can swim at your own pace. 2 lanes booked
