Hey everyone.
Many members of NBCC just competed in the first Brisbane competition of the year, Brisbane Summer 2025. So here’s a quick recap of everyone’s highlights in no particular order.
- Luke: We are going to skip his double PR in 3x3 first round and go straight to his double PR in second round, he got a 21.85 avg beating his PR in the previous round by 4 seconds!!! He also got a 20.21 single in the same avg. So close to that sub 20 single hopefully at the next comp.
- Asaph: We will go straight to 3x3Blindfolded where he got a double PR of 1:35.00 mean with a 1:02.98 single!!! Then in the final he got a 1:15.29 single placing him 3rd at the comp. Unreal, hopefully sub 1min at the next comp.
- Josh: Got a 2.19 avg in the first round of 2x2 placing him 3rd in the round, then he got a 1.13 single in the second round, that’s 9th in Malaysia (the country he represents) Josh finished 4th in the final, so close to that 2x2 podium you’ve been chasing.
- Matt: Where do we start , he got some great times at this comp, we’ll start with 3x3 where he got a 7.70 avg in the first round placing him 3rd in the round, next megaminx where he got PR of 1:05.95 avg with a 1:02.16 single!!! His one handed is also improving, he got a 14.18 avg in the final placing him 5th.
- Joel: Has been working really hard on his megaminx and 5x5 times and, well, it’s paid off - he got a double PR 1:05.41 avg with a 56.73 single placing him 6th in the final. As for megaminx he got a 53.24 avg and a 47.13 single placing him in 8th. He seems to excel under the pressure in finals.
- Moses: Got a 1:07.34 avg for megaminx finally breaking the 1:10.00 barrier, in addition, he got double PRs in square 1 with a 32.09 avg and a 19.15 single.
- Elijah: Absolutely locked in and got a 7.77 3x3 avg in finals placing him 3rd, he also placed 2nd in every round of 3x3 one handed, he got a PR avg of 10.99 in the first round.
- Conner T: Got a 1:38.08 5x5 avg with a 1:30.06 single which is a double PR which is great beating his old PRs by 17 seconds for the avg and 11 for the single. He also got a 44.77 avg in 4x4 and a 41.27 single.
- Conner S: Got double PRs in square 1 and 2x2, we will start with his 4.12 avg in 2x2 with a 2.26 single. As for square 1 he got a 35.31 avg with a 31.66 single.
- Nate: It was great to see you come to your first comp, we hope to see you involved in many more. Nate got a 23.52 avg with a 20.88 single in the first round of 3x3, he then beat his first avg with a 23.38 avg in the second round.
- Lachlan: Got an unbelievable single of 0.80 in the second round of 2x2 which makes him 26th in Australia. He then proceeded to win 2x2 with a 2.09 avg. He also got double PRs in 4x4 with a 38.06 avg and a 32.20 single.
