Sometimes the most important thing we can give someone is our time.

Today was R U OK? Day, and across Australia we were reminded to check in with the people around us and ask one very simple question...

Are you OK?

Because the truth is, we don't always know what someone is dealing with behind closed doors, or even inside their own head.

For us, it's also a reminder of why community clubs like Jets are about so much more than somewhere to eat, drink or catch up.

For some people, a visit to the club might be one of the few conversations they have that day. A familiar face, a smile from one of our team, a cup of tea and someone willing to listen can mean more than we sometimes realise.

We want Jets to always be a place where people feel welcome, connected and part of something.

And today, we had a pretty special little visitor checking in on us too.

Allie, the newest member of the Smart Pups family, dropped by to make sure the Jets team were OK.

It couldn't have happened on a more fitting day.

Smart Pups Australia trains incredible assistance dogs like Allie to become loyal companions for children with special needs, helping them navigate challenges, build confidence and experience greater independence.

Different organisations. Different roles. But at the heart of both R U OK? and Smart Pups is something we believe deeply in at Jets:

None of us should have to face the hard days alone.

So today, check in on a mate. A family member. A work colleague. A neighbour. Or someone you haven't heard from in a while.

Ask the question. Give them your time. And most importantly, be ready to listen.

And Allie... thanks for checking in on us today. We’re doing just fine after that visit.

Fresh out of the oven... and they don't tend to hang around for long.

Our September Café Special takes a little inspiration from Ipswich’s Galvanized Festival, with our Cornish Pasties baked fresh onsite every morning.

Golden pastry packed with tender beef and vegetables, served with a fresh garden salad and rich gravy... and judging by how quickly these little beauties have been disappearing, we're not the only ones who think they're pretty good.

Available from 10am, 7 days a week throughout September, so there’s plenty of time to try one — although we wouldn't leave it too late in the day. Once they're gone, they're gone.

Coffee and a freshly baked Cornish Pasty at Jets? That sounds like a pretty good way to spend some time.

What a way to finish an incredible first year of Jetability!

From where it all began to taking the field at Cbus Super Stadium, Jetability has created opportunities, experiences and memories that we hope will stay with everyone involved for a very long time.

Jets Leagues Club has been incredibly proud to help make this wonderful program possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who brought Jetability to life. The organisers, coaches, volunteers, families, supporters, the team at Ipswich Jets and, of course, all the players who pulled on the jersey and gave it everything.

You made the first year something pretty special.

To our Jetability players... congratulations on an incredible first season. Taking the field against the Gold Coast Titans at Cbus Super Stadium is one heck of a way to finish!

We can't wait to see where Jetability goes from here.

Meet Allie, a very clever Smart Pup who grows more confident with every new experience.

Through our support of Smart Pups Assistance Dogs, we are proud to be helping Allie progress through the specialised training that will prepare her to make a life-changing difference for a child and their family.

We love seeing how far she has already come and look forward to following the next stages of her journey.

This is what building a stronger community together is all about.

Our chefs drew a little inspiration from Ipswich’s past to create something special for September.

With the Galvanized Festival kicking off tomorrow, meet our Restaurant Meal of the Month... Beef Short Rib Pie.

Slow-cooked beef short rib beneath golden, flaky pastry, served with creamy mash, vegetables and rich gravy.

And the best part? It’s here all month, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy it during the festival... and come back for another afterwards.
