What a big weekend for Hobart Phoenix.

16 TJBL Grand Finals and we were represented in 11

In the girls space we had 8 teams participating and walked away with 6 titles.

It was great to see so many families stay for our last team today the U12 Shield girls who won a tight one v Wolves.

The Grand Finals in the TJBL Southern Conference competition are here and today sees' our representative teams in the U12s, 14s & 16s in action at the Kingborough Sports Centre.

We hope to see many of our players families and friends down at the Kingborough Sports Centre cheering our teams on today, so be loud and proud and wear some teal and black.

Games start from 9:00am at the Kingborough Sports Centre and good luck to all our rep teams taking part, go well and have fun !

It is with great sadness we acknowledge the passing of our inaugural President John Jauncey.

John was heavily involved with Marti's senior men (senior coach) and Kandors senior women two clubs who joined as part of forming Hobart Basketball Association.

In 1990 the first year of Hobart Basketball Association John was integral to generating funds including running Friday night raffles at the Cascade and Queens Head hotels. His personality and commitment also ensured that all the clubs coming together had a common goal to make Hobart great.

John stayed heavily involved as his children Andrew and Lauren undertook their playing journeys through our junior and senior programs.

When the family's involvement with the club finished John's connection never did. He continued to attend end of season events, sat on the 35-year celebration committee and attended any event he was invited to.

Our thoughts go out to Louise, Andrew, Lauren and their families during this difficult time.

As a Life Member John's contribution will never be forgotten.

RIP John, one of the greats.
