💚💛 Coastal National Team 💚💛

Congratulations to Oceane Jeannerat for being selected to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Rowing Championships in Barbados! Oceane will be racing the U19 Beach Sprint Solo after winning the national championship in the same event!

As the trip is self funded, Oceane is asking for any donations to help subsidise her trip to race against the best in the world!

Here's what Oceane had to say:

"Hi all, I’m Oceane Jeannerat, part of the Fremantle Rowing Club squad. This September, our club performed exceptionally well at the Australian Beach Sprint Nationals in NSW. The extra training sessions I did outside of my already very busy rowing schedule paid off as I came back to Perth with a big smile and an U19 national champion title. Following this, Rowing Australia invited me to represent Australia at the 2025 Commonwealth Rowing Association Championships. I'm so incredibly grateful for this incredible opportunity, it definitely wouldn't have been possible without my amazing family, my very patient coach, my friends for listening me rant on about rowing when I'm not rowing, and the FRC community as a whole.

From November 21-23, I will be racing in the U19 Women's Solo and potentially another event such as a relay. The championships will be held at Brownes Beach, in Barbados, which is not simple to get to at all, meaning the cost has come in at $6,811.00, which is self funded.

I would love to live my life to its fullest with no regrets, and for that, I have decided to accept the invitation. I am truly honoured to have been invited. To turn this dream into a reality, I would be incredibly grateful for any support you can provide, if possible. Every contribution allows me to seize this unique opportunity and give it everything I’ve got. Your donations are tax-deductible!"

The Fremantle Rowing Club Adult Learn to Row course is a fun way for people over the age of 18 years of age to learn the basic skills of rowing, gain some fitness in the outdoors and meet new friends 🤝

The structured course will be held on Sunday mornings at 9:00am and runs for 8 consecutive weeks.

The course is designed and run by one of our coaches, David Vandas, a former national oarsmen from the Czech Republic who has achieved international success. In 2012, David turned his hand to coaching and attained a level 3 coaching accreditation in Australia. This adult learn to row program is based on a program that he designed and implemented in Queensland with proven success, with the first two groups at Fremantle passing with flying colours 💪💪

You will learn the basic rowing action, how to move and handle all equipment correctly and safely, and at the completion of the course, be able to row in a quad sculling boat 🚣‍♂️🚣‍♀️
