This is my eighth year in the industry and some trends never change.
The temperature gets cooler, the days get shorter and the attendance drops ☔️
I get it, motivation is low and for most of us we rely on motivation to do the things we wanna do.
But then enough time passes, and the days begin to get warmer and longer and before you know it, it’s been three months since you’ve stepped foot in the gym.
Then we feel like we need to make up for lost time but because we’ve left it so long starting again feels like a mammoth effort.
But then Christmas is around the corner and there’s so much on everyone’s plates that you just think “oh I’ll start next year”.
And New Year’s hits (which is a busy time for us coaches).
While the days are longer and the weather is warmer and you feel motivated to do all of these things. It’s easier to maintain these habits.
Until winter hits again.
And the cycle repeats 🔄
Now is when you need to stay consistent.
It might mean adjusting a few things to make it more achievable, but the worst thing you can do is give up entirely.
One of the huge benefits of having a coach is someone keeping you accountable. Someone reminding you of your goals when you feel like giving up. Someone to push you when you feel like you’re dragging your feet.
Motivation fluctuates, but if you can set yourself up with strategies to keep you going on those low motivation days that’s where you will really make progress.
