Gould Swim Academy Mini Commonwealth Games

Monday 22nd June – Saturday 27th June

This term, instead of our usual Safety Week, we are excited to be hosting the Gould Swim Academy Mini Commonwealth Games!

The Mini Commonwealth Games are designed to be a fun and inclusive event where every participant is encouraged, celebrated and recognised for their efforts and achievements.

If you would prefer not to participate, please let reception know and we will be happy to arrange a make-up lesson for your child.

Morning Classes

All morning classes will run as normal. During their regular lesson time, swimmers will rotate through a variety of fun Commonwealth Games event stations.

Afternoon Classes

Afternoon classes will operate according to the Mini Commonwealth Games event schedule. We have released the event timetable, allocating swimmers to specific event sessions. Please check this carefully, as your child may not be swimming at their usual lesson time during Commonwealth Games week.

Baby & Parent Classes

There will be no afternoon Baby & Parent classes during Mini Commonwealth Games week. Please speak with reception and we will gladly arrange a make-up lesson.

We can't wait for a week filled with fun, friendship, cheering each other on and celebrating everything we love about swimming!

💚💛FROM GOULD SWIM ACADEMY TO THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES 💚💛

There are moments in a swim school's journey that make every early morning, every lesson and every lap worthwhile. This is one of them.

Today, we celebrate two incredible young women, Mia Hogan and Sienna Toohey, on their selection to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Games.

To have not one, but two Gould Swim Academy swimmers reach this level is something truly special. We have watched both girls grow from young swimmers into outstanding athletes through years of dedication, resilience, hard work and determination.

While we are proud of their achievements in the pool, we are equally proud of the people they have become. Both Mia and Sienna are wonderful role models for the next generation of swimmers coming through our program.

To Mia and Sienna – thank you for inspiring so many young swimmers to dream big. Your Gould Swim Academy family is behind you every step of the way.

👏 Huge congratulations to Ryleigh Hogan, Charlie Murphy and Macy Clark on their selection in the Asia-Pacific Water Polo League U23 Tournament!

After impressive performances representing Victoria and New South Wales at the Australian Country Championships, all three have earned the opportunity to compete in September.

What a fantastic achievement! We are incredibly proud of you all and can't wait to see what you do next.

Everyone at Gould Swim Academy would like to congratulate Sienna Toohey on her selection in the Australian team for the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

We are incredibly proud to have been part of Sienna's swimming journey. Her dedication, perseverance and hard work have been truly inspiring, and this achievement is thoroughly deserved.

Watching young swimmers grow from learning the basics to achieving their dreams is one of the greatest privileges of what we do, and Sienna's success is a wonderful reminder of where determination and commitment can take you.

SEEKING SWIM INSTRUCTORS

No experience needed!

At Gould Swim Academy, we are lucky to have an amazing team of swim teachers from all different backgrounds and age groups, all sharing one thing in common: a passion for helping children become safe, confident and happy in the water.

We are now looking for our next superstars of the pool!

Are you:
✅ Fun, friendly and enthusiastic?
✅ Great with children?
✅ Looking for a supportive workplace?
✅ Limited with hours due to school, study or family commitments?
✅ Ready for a rewarding challenge?

Then you might be exactly who we are looking for.

We have morning and afternoon shifts available:
Morning shifts: 8:45am – 12:00pm
Afternoon shifts: 3:15pm – 7:00pm
There may also be opportunities to work school programs between 12:00pm and 2:40pm.

We are flexible with availability. Some teachers work one shift a week, others work across multiple sessions.

No experience is necessary. We can teach you the swim teaching side of the job, what we can’t teach is enthusiasm, friendliness and personality.

You will receive full training in our unique program, ongoing support and opportunities to continue developing your skills.

🏊‍♂️🇦🇺 BIG NEWS FOR THE GOULD FAMILY! 🇦🇺🏊‍♂️
We are incredibly proud to share that Toby Gould has been selected to represent Australia at the 2026 Under 18 Water Polo World Championships in Portugal! 🌍

Toby, not only a member of the Gould family, but he also learnt to swim with us here and has also spent time teaching at Gould Swim Academy, becoming a familiar and much-loved face around the pool.

To see one of our own achieve selection in the green and gold is something very special.

His dedication, discipline and hard work have earned him the opportunity to compete on the world stage against the best young athletes from around the globe. What an amazing achievement!

International competition comes with many expenses including travel, accommodation, training camps and tournament costs, and we know every bit of support means the world as Toby chases this dream. We will be sharing soon how you can help Toby to realise his dream.
