First Martial Arts Noranda, Western Australia

First Martial Arts Noranda, Western Australia First Martial Arts Noranda provides traditional martial art and practical self-defense training.
(1)

First Martial Arts Noranda provides traditional martial art and practical self-defence training to children (6 years+), adolescents, and adults. Our members train twice per week and also have the option of attending our other First Martial Arts classes at 22x other Perth metro venues throughout the week at no extra cost. We provide a non-contact style of training, and do not participate in martial art competitions such as tournaments. Our training focuses on both personal development and being realistically prepared for self-defence situations, with the clear recognition that avoidance is best. Our members include schoolchildren, university students, and business professionals who understand the importance of honing their situational awareness and training to be mentally and physically ready for self-defence action, if the need should arise. We invite prospective members to come along to a class to see what our training is like, and to apply for a free, no-obligation introductory class. At every First TKD Grading Examination, our senior coloured belts face one of the most demanding parts of their assessment—sparring against experienced Black Belts under the watchful eye of Master Low.

This is far more than just a sparring match. It is an opportunity to demonstrate timing, control, composure, strategy, courage and the ability to apply Tae Kwon Do techniques under pressure.

Every exchange is carefully observed and assessed. Master Low is evaluating student's decision-making, attitude, control, fighting spirit and whether they have developed the skills and maturity required to progress to the next rank.

Earning your next belt isn't just about knowing the syllabus. It's about proving you can apply it when it matters most.

Congratulations to all of our senior belts who stepped onto the floor and gave their best.

Thanks to SI Les for this image.

💐 Happy Mother’s Day from First TKD WA! 💐 Today we celebrate the incredible mothers across all our WA branches who continue to inspire us both on and off the dojang floor. Our 2026 Mother’s Day Collage is a tribute to the women who not only encourage their children through their TaeKwonDo journey, but who also have the courage and commitment to train alongside them. 🥋

There is something truly special about a mother who leads by example. ❤️ Through every class, every challenge, and every grading, these women show their children the value of perseverance, humility, discipline, and inner strength. 💪 They prove that growth never has an age limit and that true leadership comes through action.

Between work, family commitments, and the endless responsibilities of everyday life, our TKD mums still make time to better themselves physically and mentally. 🌟 That dedication deserves enormous respect. Their presence within our dojangs helps create the strong family culture that First TKD is proud of. 👏
To every mother in our First TKD family — thank you for your support, your kindness, your resilience, and the example you set for the next generation. 🌷 We are proud to have you as part of our community and grateful for everything you do.

If this collage touches your heart, please like ❤️, comment 💬, and share 🔄 as we celebrate these amazing women today.

Respect sits at the heart of everything we do at First TaeKwonDo.

In traditional martial arts, a bow is far more than just a formality—it’s a sign of mutual trust, humility, and discipline. Every time our students bow to their partner, they are making an unspoken agreement: to train with control, to support one another, and to ensure each other’s safety.

Moments like this remind us that TaeKwonDo is not just about kicks and techniques—it’s about character. It’s about learning to show respect to instructors, training partners, and ourselves, both inside and outside the dojang.

Strong techniques build strong martial artists… but respect builds great people. 🥋

Power. Precision. Presence. Hyung training at our recent First Tae Kwon Do Invited 1st Kup & Black Belt Quarterly Training was a powerful reminder of what sets advanced students apart.

With the entire floor moving in unison, every stance was grounded, every technique deliberate, and every breath controlled. Hyung is more than a pattern — it is the foundation of timing, balance, strength and mental discipline. It reveals attention to detail, depth of understanding, and the true spirit of Taekwondo.

For our 1st Kups, this was an opportunity to step into the standard expected at Black Belt level — to feel the pressure, sharpen their focus, and raise their performance. For our Black Belts, it was about refinement, leadership, and setting the example through precision and intensity.

When the room moves together with that level of commitment, you can feel the standard lifting.

This is how we prepare.
This is how we grow.
This is First Tae Kwon Do.

🥋 Instructor Joshua executing a Twimyo Bandae Jireugi (Flying Reverse Punch) board break.

What you see here isn’t just speed or strength — it’s disciplined training, timing, balance, and commitment to technique. This is the standard we expect from our Black Belts at First TaeKwonDo WA — not just the ability to execute techniques, but to do so with control, awareness, and responsibility.

Joshua continues to set and example for our junior belts and reminding everyone that Black Belt is not a rank — it’s a responsibility. 👊🔥

At First TaeKwonDo, belt rank is earned — never given.

Grading is a privilege, not a right, and only students who consistently show discipline, effort, elevated technique, and respectful conduct are invited to test for a higher rank. Most students attend grading only once or twice a year depending on their level, and this selective approach is what protects the high standards and integrity of our traditional martial art.

Congratulations to these dedicated students who earned their place on the grading floor this weekend👊✨

A reminder: the final Perth Grading Exam for 2025, conducted by Master Instructor Vernon Low, will be held this Sunday, 07/12/2025.

Best of luck to all invited students — train hard, stay focused, and finish the year strong!,

💥 Spinning Elbow Strike in Action! 💥 At First TaeKwonDo, we teach more than just kicks and punches — we train our students in effective self-defence techniques. Here you can see two of our young green belts demonstrating a spinning elbow strike during one-step sparring practice at grading.

This technique is all about timing, precision, and control. Training like this builds confidence, focus, and discipline, while sharpening self-defence skills that work in real-life situations.

✅ Great job to all our students giving 100% at grading!
